EUNIC - European Union National Institutes for Culture is a network
founded in 2006. EUNIC Global office in Brussels coordinates the work of
approximately 90 EUNIC clusters around the world. EUNIC Global office
in Brussels is recruiting a Communications Assistant for a six-month
period, starting from 27 October 2014 until April 2015. The main
activities of the intern will be to assist in EUNIC Global
communications activities, including updating the EUNIC website,
maintenance of social media profiles and the Poliglotti4.eu project
website on multilingualism.
Main responsibilities of the Communications Assistant
• Update EUNIC website
• Assist in EUNIC website redevelopment process
• Assist management and maintenance of the EUNIC websites and social media profiles
• Assist in production of the EUNIC monthly newsletter
• Assist in all aspects of external and internal communication
• Contribute to production of promotional material
• Assist in minutes taking
• Proofreading of web, press and informational material
• Take a lead in developing a database of experts and journalists
• Assist in maintaining Poliglotti4.eu website and social media profiles
Profile and Skills required
• Advanced studies or university degree in Communications, Journalism, Languages, Language Policy, Translation, Multilingual Communication or similar
• Keen interest in Intercultural Dialogue, Multilingualism and its role in the European and national context
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Native speaker level of English, working knowledge of French, any additional languages are a plus (part of the activities require multilingual skills)
• Attention to detail in order to ensure outstanding quality and consistency
• Knowledge of and interest in Social Media and Social Media Marketing (Facebook and Twitter)
• Preferably previous experience with website management and maintenance
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with MAC OS
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Conditions
Stipend of EUR 650 per month
Duration of the internship is 6 months, start date 27 October 2014
