Swedish Research Council International Postdoctoral Grant

Description
The Swedish Research Council is now accepting applications for International Postdoc Grant for January 2018 start.  The purpose of the grant is to give recently qualified researchers with a doctoral degree from a Swedish university the opportunity to expand their networks and their competencies by working abroad under secure employment terms.
The Swedish Research Council priority target groups are researchers since financing research is one of the most important missions of the Swedish Research Council. Other target groups are decision-makers, journalists, and the public. Grant is awarded in the following fields:
Humanities and Social Sciences;
Medicine and Health;
Natural and Engineering Sciences;
Educational Sciences;
Artistic Research.
Eligibility
The following criteria must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible to apply for the grant:
The applicant for an international postdoc grant must be an individual researcher;
You must hold a doctoral degree from a Swedish university or the European University Institute (EUI), awarded no more than two years before the deadline for this call;
International students are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme;
Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.
Grants from the Swedish Research Council shall be administered by a Swedish university or HEI or another Swedish public organisation that fulfils our criteria for administrating organizations. To apply, your organisation must, therefore, be approved as an administrating organisation.
If you are awarded a grant, you must be employed by the administrating organisation when the grant period starts and throughout the grant period, unless the Swedish Research Council, the administrating organisation or any other employer agree otherwise. The administrating organisation will decide on the employment form, salary and employment terms and conditions. You are, however, expected to remain employed full-time throughout the grant period, which means that you are employed and pay tax in Sweden during your stay abroad. You do not have to be employed by the administrating organisation at the time of applying.
Benefits
The grant is awarded in a standard amount of 110114.83 EUR per year.
Out of which 94384.14 EUR is for your salary costs and 15730.69 EUR for research expenses relating to your stay and the research you will be carrying out (such as consumables, travel including stays at research sites and publication costs);
The grant amount includes the cover of indirect costs. The standard amount relating to salary costs also includes social security contributions. The grant may not be used for bursaries.
The Swedish Research Council assumes that the administrating organisation, as the employer responsible, will cover any costs in excess of the standard amount received.
The grant period is 18-36 months, starting from 1 January 2018. The first payment will be made during January 2018 at the earliest.
How to apply?
You apply electronically in Prisma, which is the application system used by the Swedish Research Council. You create your application in Prisma by filling in the text fields, uploading information from your personal account, and attaching the appendices requested.
To enable you to apply, your organisation must have been approved as an administrating organisation and have created an organisation account in Prisma.
You will need to attach an appendix to some fields as instructed. The appendix must consist of one file only, and you can only attach documents in PDF format. All appendices are limited as to file size and number of pages. You will not be able to attach an appendix that exceeds the stated maximum file size.

Internship

Ipsos MORI is recruiting an intern for our Public Affairs team, who specialise in social research. The duration of the internship will be approximately 3 months and will end on the 22nd December 2017. The intern will be assigned a line manager and buddy to guide them through the internship.
Applicants must have a keen interest in social research and will have recently finished a degree, ideally within the last year. Please note that there is no guarantee of a job at the end of the internship. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and will be paid the London Living Wage.
The intern will work on a project where they will gain exposure to, and experience in, social research as well as other key skills such as project management, IT, and qualitative and quantitative research techniques. They will develop some awareness of an understanding of the different data analysis approaches used in research.
In addition, interns should gain a good understanding of what a career in social research might entail, what is needed to progress, as well as exposure to a range of different policy areas.

University of Cambridge Scholarships 2018/2019 for Foreign Students

The Cambridge Trust is offering Cambridge International Scholarships to pursue PhD studies for 2018-2019 academic year.
The aim of the Cambridge International Scholarships is to ensure that the 250 highest ranked students, irrespective of nationality, receive full financial support to undertake research leading to a PhD. International students are eligible for these scholarships.

UNESCO and Czech Republic are inviting applications for fellowships programme. There is no possibility to change neither the field of study nor the study programme once the fellowship is awarded.

A special emphasis is placed on the impact the student has had on the life of their school and community, and their future potential to contribute positively to the global community.   Awarded annually, these scholarships recognize outstanding students from around the world, including international students studying at Canadian high schools. This is U of T’s most prestigious and competitive scholarship for international students.  Each year approximately 37 students will be named Lester B. Pearson Scholars.
