Value:
-Office and support: Fellowships at NIAS are residential fellowships. The NIAS Fellow will be allotted an office in the main building with a personal computer and internet connection, and be entitled to the use of the library service and a limited amount of support.
-Accommodation: Currently, free accommodation in a studio apartment on campus in Wassenaar (or equivalent housing) is offered to unaccompanied Fellows from outside the Netherlands. Also in Amsterdam studio apartments near the institute will be available. A possible net contribution to be paid for the (fully furnished) studio apartments will be determined at a later stage. In Wassenaar, housing at subsidised rate is currently offered to NIAS Fellows from outside the Netherlands who bring their partners or families. Accommodation is offered in apartments and family homes in Wassenaar at a subsidized rate. In Amsterdam apartments for families will be offered in the area of Amstelveen (south of Amsterdam). -Stipends and replacement subsidies for regular NIAS Fellows: NIAS may offer a stipend to researchers from abroad in the case of loss of income and may offer a replacement subsidy to Dutch universities to compensate for the loss of teaching hours of the researcher.
-Lunches, coffee/tea, academic and social activities: Lunches on weekdays, coffee and tea in the main building, as well as the monthly contribution to academic and social activities are included in the fellowship.
-Travel costs: The Institute will reimburse non-Dutch Fellows’ travel costs to and from NIAS (not family) once.

Selection Criteria: Scholarly achievements, obtained grants and awards, and reputation and quality of publications are aspects considered in the evaluation process. Moreover, the added value of the proposed project for the Dutch scientific community is an important criterion for selection. Preference is given to:
-Applicants who propose an interdisciplinary project
-A project that is closely related to an already externally funded project.

Student PAID Internship at Eur@dioNantes, France

Description

Eur@dioNantes, an European Radio station based in Nantes, France, and supported in particular by the European Commission, has recently launched the selection process of its upcoming European team of interns.
The Eur@dioNantes team is composed of several young journalists who come from all over Europe and are trained at the radio station in Nantes. They are coached by French professional journalists, who have had years of experience in journalism. For several months the journalists will learn how to create new ways of listening to European information.
The internship will start on the 25th of August 2014 in Nantes and run up until the 24th of February 2015. The intern will have the opportunity to go and report on European news live from Strasbourg (each month they will travel there for the plenary sessions).
They will have to immerse themselves in the local environment in Nantes and compare what they see and hear to the wider framework of European news. The aim is to open new perspectives and consider the implications of what is happening on a cultural, economical, social or political level on a local, national and European scale. These young students in journalism will have the unique opportunity to be trained by French professionals and to start their career in a dynamic European environment.

Eligibility

Eur@dioNantes is currently looking for high-level bilingual (in French) students in political science, journalism or European studies who are interested in European issues and who would like to get a formative experience in the world of new European media. There is no age restriction.

Remuneration

The students get a monthly allowance of 436.05 Euro.

EUROCONTROL'S GRADUATE PROGRAMME

The programme aims to attract dynamic, highly motivated and talented recent graduates with excellent qualifications who are looking for a starting point for an exciting career in ATM in a unique international environment.

The programme consists of three challenging assignments of 1 year in different business areas. On each rotation graduates will learn about the Agency's business and culture, while taking on various responsibilities and project work, and receiving a structured training programme.

A personal mentor will be assigned for the whole duration of the programme to help the graduates achieving the various objectives while promoting their development and assisting them in planning their career.

Required profile

  • Recently graduated with a Master degree (graduation date in or after 2012) in:

  • Maximum of two years work-experience after graduation at the closing date of the competition;

2014 Aida Sulayman Arif Bursary for International Students in UK

Applications are invited for PhD bursary within the Department of Art and Archaeology at SOAS, University of London. Internship Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum

The Secretariat of the Steering Committee of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Civil Society Forum is accepting applications for an internship. The Intern will assist the Director of the Secretariat and the Communications Manager in administrative, policy and communication related tasks.

Candidate’s Profile
The Intern will:
  • Have basic understanding of the workings of the EU, bilateral and multi-lateral tracks of the Eastern Partnership, and civil society involvement in the EaP

  • Occasionally posting information to the website of the Forum
