The Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust, A Postgraduate Scholarship for International Students in UK

The Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust is offered every year for any eligible students. The candidates should be enrolled in PhD or Master in the field of medicine, dentistry and veterinary studies at any universities or colleges in UK. Normally, the selected candidates will be awarded from £300 to £1000 in value. Please submit your application before 31 March 2014.

Program Description
The Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust supports students of medicine, dentistry or veterinary science, and postgraduate students in all fields of study.

Founded in 1919 by the businessman and philanthropist Sir Richard Stapley (1843-1920), the Trust is an expression of his life-long concern with educational and philanthropic causes. For nearly 100 years, it has helped hundreds of students in financial difficulty from Great Britain and abroad to complete their studies at a university in the United Kingdom.

The Trust funds students pursuing degrees in medicine, dentistry and veterinary studies and postgraduate degree students from all fields of study. Applications are welcome from students beginning their first year of study, as well as from those already embarked on their degree course.

Award Amount
Grants are normally from £300 to £1000 in value.

Eligibility and Criteria
Before you apply this scholarship award, please make sure that you meet all the qualification below:

• over the age of 24 on 01 October of the proposed year of study
• either accepted on, or applying for a place on a degree course in medicine, dentistry or veterinary studies, or accepted on, or applying for a full- or part-time place on a Masters or Doctoral degree programme in any discipline, at a UK university
• already resident in the UK at the time of application, and resident in the UK during the course of study.

Applicants' Citizenship
All nationalities may apply the Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust.

Level and Area of Studies
The Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust is available to master and doctoral program in medicine, dentistry and veterinary studies.

1. a correctly completed application form
2. an academic reference letter
3. a degree equivalency statement (if applicant has neither a good UK first degree or a UK Masters degree)*

• PGCE courses
• Professional training courses (e.g. Law Society, Royal College, examinations, PLAB tests)
• Students who have already been supported by the Trust for a postgraduate degree in another field
• Students currently holding a major award from another source (i.e. a grant intended to cover full fees and subsistence)
• Full-time PhD students beyond a third year of study
• Part-time PhD students beyond a sixth year of study
