Project Assistant

Missing Children Europe is looking to recruit an intern to assist in its work related to the running of the Secretariat of the European Financial Coalition against Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children Online (EFC).
Missing Children Europe is the European Federation for missing and sexually exploited children, representing 27 organisations from 22 countries. Our mission is to protect children from any kind of violence, abuse or neglect that is caused by or results from them going missing.
The EFC brings together key actors from law enforcement, the private sector and civil society in Europe with the common goal of fighting the commercial sexual exploitation of children online. Members of the EFC join forces to take action on the payment and ICT systems that are used to run these illegal operations.
Tasks:
The Project Assistant will support the Project Officer in her day to day to day tasks regarding the coordination of the Secretariat of the EFC, including at least:

  • Assistance in drafting or finalising (including formatting), documents relevant to the EFC activities (i.e. minutes, assessments, press releases, communications to the general public)
  • Assistance in setting up meetings and conference calls
  • Occasional assistance during meetings or events – including taking notes
  • Open source research for documents and publications useful for the EFC activities
  • Assistance in keeping the EFC website up-to-date
  • Assistance in the evaluation process of the EFC activities
  • General administrative tasks
Profile, skills and background:
  • Keen interest in the protection of children’s rights
  • University degree (may be ongoing) in a relevant field such as law or economics
  • Previous traineeship / work experience in a Law firm or a Private Company (desirable)
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent command of at least English (French an asset)
  • Teamplayer / ability to work with people from different professional and cultural backgrounds
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Keen attention to details
  • Stress resistant

  • 4 days a week, 6 months contract
  • Starting date: as soon as possible.
  • Remuneration will depend on the specific situation and profile of the selected candidate.
