2014-2015 Fully-funded MPhil-PhD Postgraduate Research Scholarships in UK

The School of Social Sciences, History and Philosophy (SSHP) is offering up to fourteen fully funded Postgraduate Research Scholarships. Scholarships are open to new Home/EU and international students who are applying for a full-time MPhil/PhD place to be taken up in the 2014/15 academic year. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit, with the awards to be announced in spring 2014. Scholarship includes fee waiver up to the value of the full-time home/EU rate for MPhil/PhD degrees (currently £3,900), in addition to an annual stipend set at Research Council rates and tenable for up to 3 years (subject to satisfactory academic progress). The application deadline is 17th February 2014.
About Scholarship: The School of Social Sciences, History and Philosophy (SSHP) will award up to fourteen fully funded Postgraduate Research Scholarships in 2014. These scholarships include a number of Birkbeck ‘Anniversary Scholarships’, offered by the College to mark the 190th anniversary of its foundation. Students applying for an MPhil/PhD place in the Department of History, Classics and Archaeology are eligible to apply for these awards. The competition will be decided on the basis of academic merit, with the awards to be announced in spring 2014.
Study: Scholarships are provided in the Department of History, Classics and Archaeology at Birkbeck, University of London. Eligibility: -Students applying for an MPhil/PhD place in the Department of History, Classics and Archaeology are eligible to apply for these awards. The competition will be decided on the basis of academic merit, with the awards to be announced in spring 2014.
-The competition is primarily open to new Home/EU and International students who are applying for a full-time MPhil/PhD place to be taken up in the 2014/15 academic year; the awards will be tenable for up to 3 years (subject to satisfactory academic progress). Applications for part-time study will also be considered (at an appropriate pro rata rate and extended duration).
-The scholarship awards will include a fee waiver up to the value of the full-time home/EU rate for MPhil/PhD degrees (currently £3,900), in addition to an annual stipend set at Research Council rates (currently £13,726; pro rata in the case of a part-time award).
