We provide in-depth coverage of M&A, antitrust probes, state-backed bail-outs, intellectual property, trade and regulatory issues.
We are currently seeking candidates for two trainee journalist/junior correspondent roles.
The positions are foreseen as entry-level, although candidates with some relevant experience may also be considered.
This full-time position involves supporting the team of journalists by providing research support on individual stories, as well as on issue-specific case files.
Once the successful candidates show the necessary initiative, skills and dedication, there will also be the opportunity to write articles, reporting from the sharp end of European politics in business regulation.
The work will likely be focused on the telecoms and financial services sectors, as well as in energy.
We are looking for individuals who are focused, well-organised, hard-working, fastidious and conscientious. Mother-tongue English is essential; other European languages may prove useful.
Some knowledge of how the EU works may be advantageous, although there will be on-the-job training.
More important is that the candidate has a firm grasp of the basics of written journalism and the enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity to do well in a specialised newswire environment.
The trainee position is paid, and is a three-month position, rolled over on review for another three months.
It is based in Brussels.
Some guidance from current and previous interns is available as to accommodation/Brussels generally.
MLex has a good record of seeking to keep on trainees who prove themselves over the course of their internships.
For more experienced candidates, remuneration dependent on experience.
