Eligibility:1. Is applicable to scholars holding a
PhD degree in a field relevant to the research profile of Ruralia
Institute residing outside of Finland
2. The duration of the Scholarship is one to three months
3. The research stay has to be made between September 2012 and June 2013
4. During the research stay, Visiting Scholars take part in the activities of the research community of the Ruralia Institute.
5. Visiting Scholars are expected to give a presentation about their research in the Ruralia Institute and if possible to participate in the publishing activities and seminars of the Ruralia Institute

Description: Ruralia Visiting Scholars can conduct research and interact with the researchers of Ruralia Institute and the academic community of University of Helsinki. During the academic year 2012–2013, Ruralia Institute will host 4–5 Visiting Scholars working on e.g. the research of rural development and governance, sustainable food chains and rural entrepreneurship including co-operative entrepreneurship and rural innovation systems.
