Project Assistant Intern Full-time at PROSAFE in Brussels, Belgium

PROSAFE is seeking to recruit a part-time Project Assistant Intern for a six months period starting as soon as possible.
The offer of employment is for part-time: 16 hours/4 days/week.

Background
PROSAFE (Product Safety) is an international non-governmental organisation established by market surveillance officers from various countries throughout Europe in 1991. Our main aim is to contribute to the safety of products and services by promoting best practices in market surveillance. As from 2006, PROSAFE has taken the initiative to coordinate a number of Joint Actions between various market surveillance organizations within the EEA (European Economic Area). Examples of Joint Product Actions are: Toys, Helmets, Lighters, Baby Walkers, Sunbeds, Child Appealing Designs, JA 2010, JA 2011, JA China 2011.
In order to effectively administer all Joint Actions, PROSAFE has established a Secretariat, which is the front office for all the activities undertaken. The Secretariat deals with administrative, project management and financial tasks and supports the Board of PROSAFE. The European Commission has financially supported all activities of PROSAFE.

Tasks:
•Providing support with administrative duties and organization of meetings;
•Distributing information;
•Operating with the organizations’ Document Management System;
•Providing general support to all aspects of Joint Actions;
•Creating and maintaining files for the project administration;
•Drafting and preparing Minutes and other communications materials for meetings;
•Dealing with the relevant incoming mail;
•Ordering the office supplies and other catering services.

Profile:
- Language skills: proficiency in written and spoken English is required; good working knowledge of French and/or Dutch is an asset.
- Good computer literacy, in particular very good command of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of HTML language is an asset.
- Level of education: (Min. undergraduate) University degree in a relevant discipline.
- Knowledge/experience/interest in issues relevant for the non-food product safety and market surveillance area.
- Personal skills: well-organized, reliability, accuracy, coping - well with stress, happy and willing to cooperate in a small team.
- Be eligible to work in Belgium.

Offer
We offer an interesting internship in a young, but dynamically growing organisation which brings together European Member State officers, consultants, as well as International stakeholders in a field that is of fundamental importance for the Common European Market.
The internship will be remunerated with € 500 per month and includes the possibility of longer employment in the event of a successful trial period.
