Social Media Manager in London

Job Description

Using online campaigning to engage the public with the Hacked Off campaign.
You will be working as part of the Hacked Off campaign team, including the other paid staff, the Board, and our wider network of supporters and advisers in Parliament, the media and beyond. We intend to recruit capable professionals who will understand from experience what their roles entail. This specification is intended as a guide, not to be exhaustive or to supplant that knowledge.
Tasks
  • Build our online audience through responsive use of social media, search engine optimisation, online advertising etc.
  • Join in the debate and be an advocate for Hacked Off in the mainstream media and online
  • Practice and promote two-way interaction with Hacked Off supporters
  • Contribute flexibly to Hacked Off’s campaigning and other work
  • Carry out any other duties commensurate with this role
Skills, Attributes and Experience
  • Good technical skills and understanding of SEO, email marketing, online advertising,
  • Knowledge of social media
  • Experience of using online communication for effective campaigning
  • Desirable: experience of soliciting donations online
  • Understanding of the context of the Leveson Inquiry, or proven ability to learn new areas quickly
  • Excellent written and oral communication and persuasion skills
  • Commitment to the goals of the Hacked Off campaign
  • Ability to work sensitively with victims of intrusion
  • Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
