Become our Digital Strategist, Editor or Outreach Officer!
Digital Strategist
Peace Child International (PCI), a youth-led development and educational charity with consultative status at the United Nations, seeks a full-time, enthusiastic digital strategist to begin mid September 2012.

Duties

  • Develop, edit and design a new PCI website to be up to date and more inclusive of our initiatives, history, affiliates and publications.
  • Manage the websites of PCI initiatives and feed them into the design of the newPCI website
  • Create the social media communications for PCI
  • Promote the PCI initiatives and aid their own social media channels
  • Search and connect with followers, to generate greater community building.
  • Write and create content for PCI, This includes producing blogs, photos, images, video, audio and other engaging digital media.
  • Liaise with team members to create this content that will outreach to youth and organisations internationally.
  • Monitor & analyse the online growth of PCI and its engagement with target audiences to research, propose and implement new approaches to strengthen our online presence.
  • Complete a Communications Strategy for PCI’s future plans.
  • Aid PCI in its 2012/2013 programme

Requirements

  • A commitment to Peace Child’s mission and values.
  • Strong and fast writer with excellent communication skills.
  • A passion for digital communications, its implementation and its development
  • Solid understanding and practical application of social media platforms and tools with a strong sense for design, photo and video.
  • Proficient in HTML/CSS (or willingness to learn the basics)
  • Graphic design knowledge with InDesign (or willingness to learn the basics)
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Ability to work in Good leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to multitask, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of youth culture, particularly online trends for 14-30 year olds.

This position is a residential internship located in Buntingford, UK (in between London and Cambridge). All interns live in, shared accommodation and take turns shopping, cleaning and cooking. Food, accommodation and domestic travel expenses when on Peace Child business is provided, as well as a small weekly stipend of £25.00.  You will have enough to live on, but your real gains will be in work experience, contacts and personal development.

We now seek a writer/editor to create an international youth publication on youth employment. Must be native English speaker, with previous journalism experience and ability to manage project and stick to strict deadlines. Position begins in mid September 2012 and lasts for 3 months. International Outreach Officer
We now seek an international outreach officer. This will involve research, management and liaison with PCI’’s global network.. Position begins September 3rd and lasts for one year.
