Description

Baantorfun Kindergarten was founded in 1997  by Mrs. Naricha Vijittassana. At that time most Kindergartens in Thailand treated little children like small adults, (seemingly not knowing about principles of early childhood education). Mrs. Vijittassana began by rebuilding her home into a school. She called the school “Baantorfun” which means “a home to build dreams”.
The school provides trainersheeps (3 months minimum commitment) for candidates, interested to teach English in Thailand.
The traineeship is structured into three parts :

First Month
Getting to know the daily routine in a classroom and learn about the abilities and needs of children during a regular school day. The trainee will spend the first month of the trainee ship as an observer in a K3 class, spending time with the children from morning to afternoon.

Second Month
Introduction of English lessons for children of different ages. The trainee will spend the second month of the trainee ship with a professional English teacher as an observer taking on small parts of the English lessons towards the end of the month. The trainee will study teaching techniques, learn to prepare teaching material and do lesson planning.

Third Month
English teaching. The trainee will spend the third month teaching complete lessons under the supervision of experienced English teachers.

This project will include the whole lesson planning, preparation of teaching material (including flashcards, worksheets, homework, poster and some art or craft) and the drill of the taught vocabulary.
