Legal Intern Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP

Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, a preeminent international law firm, is currently seeking a legal intern to be based in its competition practice in Brussels. The Brussels office provides leading advice on all aspects of EU law and policy. Our focus in particular is on antitrust: merger clearances, market dominance, cartel defense and state aid, spanning a wide range of industry sectors. We represent clients before the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission, in the European Courts in Luxembourg, and before the competition authorities of the EU Member States.

This is an opportunity to gain excellent experience in a large international firm, whilst the small size of the Brussels team will ensure a high level of day to day involvement in client advice.

Requirements:

  • University graduate with a law degree, LL.M. preferred;
  • Excellent academic results;
  • Demonstrated interest in and previous exposure to competition law a definite plus;
  • (Near) native speaker level in spoken and written English; additional European languages an asset;
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • Good IT skills, especially MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
It is envisaged that this paid internship would be for a period of four to six months, starting in June 2014.

To apply please submit a detailed CV and cover letter to Claire Middleton at claire.middleton@cwt.com.

Deadline for receipt of applications: Monday 21 April 2014. We will respond to all applications after this deadline.
