ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is the world’s leading association of cities and local governments dedicated to sustainable development.

We are offering an Internship as EcoMobility Alliance Assistant at the World Secretariat in Bonn, Germany.
Tasks
The EcoMobility Alliance is a selected group of cities with commendable achievements in the area of sustainable urban mobility. The Alliance is supported but a group of experts and international agencies collectively called Alliance Partners.
The assistant will support the EcoMobility Alliance Team in developing and implementing international strategies and campaigns to promote EcoMobility services among the Alliance cities, as well as contacting and communicating with various Alliance Partners.
This entails in particular:
  • Support in building relationships with Alliance cities.
  • Identify cities and pursue their participation in the EcoMobility Alliance.
  • Maintaining contact databases
  • Updating the EcoMobility Alliance webpage
  • Promoting partnerships through social media
  • Drafting and disseminating newsletters
  • Assist in organising and conducting Alliance workshops
Requirements
  • Degree in relevant subjects such as Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Urban Design, or similar with a primary focus on urban transport;
  • Strong interest in sustainable transport principles, practices and strategies;
  • Very good communication skills in English (written and orally);
  • Fluency in German (both written and oral) is a prerequisite for this position,
  • Interpersonal skills and professional posture (in case of events, fairs attendance)
Terms and conditions
  • The Internship position is available from 1 May 2014 at the ICLEI World Secretariat in Bonn, Germany. The duration is limited to 6 months. Further employment with ICLEI is possible and is subject to performance and project availability.
  • ICLEI offers interns a cost compensation of € 880.
  • Workings hours: 40/week, 2 days of paid leave per month.
  • Working language: English.
  • Due to legal requirements, applicants must be eligible to obtain the appropriate work permit for Germany prior to the start of the position.
