Manchester Metropolitan University is offering master degree scholarships for
UK/EU students within the Faculty of Humanities, Languages and Social
Science. Up to sixteen MA scholarships will be awarded. Students
applying for full or part-time study on any taught Masters Programmes in
the Faculty are eligible for these scholarships which will pay 50% of
the fees for Masters study. The application deadline is May 30th 2014.
About Scholarship: The Faculty of Humanities, Languages and Social Science is pleased to announce we will be offering sixteen scholarships to assist students with financing their Masters studies. Students applying for full or part-time study on any taught Masters Programmes in the Faculty are eligible for these scholarships which will pay 50% of the fees for Masters study. The Faculty offers a wide range of programmes at diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels in humanities, languages and social science, attracting more than 5,000 students from a diverse range of backgrounds. The Faculty’s postgraduate community is large and still growing; students are registered for the degree of PhD, MPhil or MA/MSc. In addition, the Faculty is the location for a number of specialist research centres and there is a wide range of Faculty-wide, departmental-based and cross University seminars held to promote discussion and disseminate research findings. Students are invited to participate in research seminars and attend performances, readings and events.
Study: Scholarships are awarded for the following MA programmes: Applied Linguistics, Creative Writing, Criminology, English Studies, English Studies, Contemporary Literature and Film, English Studies, The Gothic, European Philosophy, European Urban Cultures, History, Information Management, International Relations and Global Communications, Library and Information Management, Local and Regional History, Multimedia Journalism, Public History and Heritage, Sociology and Global Change and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. -Be a UK or EU citizen.
-Have a good honours first degree in a relevant subject.
-Applicants are expected to act as a ‘Masters Scholar’ and make a modest, but important, contribution to the learning community in the Faculty – examples might include offering a seminar, leading a small undergraduate project, undertaking a pilot project with one of our partner organisations, or representing the Faculty in a university event.
Scholarship Open for: Students of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom can apply for these MA scholarships.
