Junior Professionals Bertelsmann Stiftung

The Bertelsmann Stiftung is one of the largest operative foundations in Europe, a nonprofit organisation committed to building a sustainable society in the tradition of its founder, Reinhard Mohn. The Foundation's program work is aimed at improving the individual's opportunities for democratic, social and economic participation in our globalised world.

In our Junior Professionals Program, you will acquire the content and methodology you need to take on responsible project management tasks at the Bertelsmann Stiftung. The program is aimed at university graduates and junior professionals. Due to intensifying global interconnections in its various focus topics, the Bertelsmann Stiftung's work is taking on an increasingly international focus. Therefore, we are explicitly also inviting international applicants and candidates who have already gained international experience in their academic education and professional practice.

As of 1 September 2014 we are looking for Junior Professionals (f/m) preferably in the following fields of the Stiftung's work: Europe, Asia, Health, Education, and public finances in Germany.

Your tasks

As a Junior Professional, the 18 month program will involve "on the job" learning about the content and methods of the Bertelsmann Stiftung's project work in the various thematic areas and projects. Accompanying “off the job” qualification measures will give you other key skills that are essential for successful project implementation. From the start, you will be involved in identifying societal challenges at an early stage, and developing sustainable and longterm strategies. You are called on to contribute your own ideas and to take responsibility.

Our requirements

  • an excellent university degree; further qualifications, such as a doctorate, are very welcome;
  • initial professional experience, including through qualifying internships, if possible in the respective key topic;
  • international experience through study or practical experience;
  • identification with our foundation's goals and values;
  • a high level of team spirit and ability to cope with pressure;
  • a structured, resultsoriented way of working;
  • excellent spoken and written German;
  • excellent English as well as another foreign language.
If you have ideas, are committed, and are looking for the right start to your career, we look forward to receiving your application, which you can submit online by March 14, 2014 at the latest. Please state your salary expectations and earliest possible start date, as well as where you saw our job advertisement.
