University of Hull is offering 20 full-time PhD scholarships
for UK/EU or international students. These PhD scholarships include
fees at the ‘home/EU’ student rate and maintenance (£13,726 in 2014/15)
and international student rate, subject to final confirmation.
Scholarships are awarded for three years depending on satisfactory
progress. 3rd February 2014 is the application deadline.
About Scholarship: To celebrate the University’s research successes, the University of Hull is offering 20 full-time UK/EU PhD Scholarship or International Fees Bursaries for candidates applying for the areas within the University’s Research Themes.
Study: Scholarships are awarded for the areas within the University’s Research Themes, including the following the areas: -social development (e.g., educational attainment, youth employment, crime, citizen engagement, care of the elderly, ageing, child careers, problem families, leisure, community development);
-economic regeneration (e.g., developing new/niche industries, sustainable tourism, building economic networks, logistics and supply chain management, fostering innovation, improving productivity);
-enabling change through digital technologies (e.g., through big data, the internet of things, social media, e-democracy, e-participation) Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD degree at University of Hull in UK. Eligibility: In order to qualify for this scholarship you will require a 2.1, or equivalent in a relevant subject.
-UK/EU or International fee Bursaries for candidates applying for the areas within the Research Themes, including the areas.
-To be eligible for these awards, applicants MUST demonstrate in their proposal that their research draws upon insights from more than one discipline. Supervision will be provided jointly by a minimum of two researchers from different disciplines.
-applications for PhD projects which will contribute to knowledge and help meet the significant research challenges in the field of connected communities. Applications are welcome from students with backgrounds in ANY discipline (e.g., Biology, Business and Management, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Geography, Healthcare, Law, Physics, Politics, Social Sciences, Systems and Complexity Sciences).
