Publications Intern International Crisis Group

Role:
Crisis Group publishes around 90 reports and briefings annually, and some 60 full translations (English, French, Spanish, Arabic and other languages).

We are seeking an intern to work at the Brussels headquarters for six months starting mid-February 2013, working on Crisis Group's publications. Responsibilities will include the formatting, publication and dissemination of Crisis Group reports and briefings; updating the website; working with our 25 field and advocacy offices on publication issues and providing general administrative support.
The internship will suite a broad range of candidates, including those with interests and experience in some combination of the following: international relations, conflict studies, print and online publication.
Though administrative tasks form a part of the internship, there are opportunities to take part in staff briefings and our staff development program – and familiarising oneself with other departments in Brussels, as well as with Crisis Group staff around the world.
Requirements:
  •  Good computer literacy – using styles, keyboard shortcuts etc;
  •  Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, and familiarity with Excel;
  •  Attention to detail and highly organised;
  •  An undergraduate degree is required - a degree in international relations, conflict studies, government, or similar is desirable; and
  •  Possession of an EU passport, student visa or other means of working in Belgium for six months without work permit sponsorship from Crisis Group;
  •  Excellent English required;
  •  Native French or other languages, an asset.
