WORLD FUTURE COUNCIL FOUNDATION – VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The World Future Council brings the interests of future generations to the centre of policy making. Its
50 eminent members from around the globe have already successfully promoted change. The Council
addresses challenges to our common future and provides decision-makers with effective policy
solutions. In-depth research underpins advocacy work for international agreements, regional policy
frameworks and national lawmaking and thus produces practical and tangible results.

The World Future Council Foundation is looking for an
Intern - Council Liaison & Communications (30-40 hrs per week)
for 6 months, starting on 14 January 2013, based at the WFC’s head office in Hamburg, Germany.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Council Liaison
Prepare documents and assist in the conduct of the elections of new Councillors
Support co-ordination and preparation of documents for the next Annual General Meeting
Supporting the preparation, running and follow up of our Annual General Meeting together
with the Assistant to the Management Board (i.e. travel management for the Councillors)
Research and compile background information on possible candidates for the Council
Media and Communications:
Preparation and co-ordination of press releases together with our Media- and Communications
Officer
Management, update and expansion of media mailing list/contacts
Social media affinity (Twitter, Facebook)
Profile:

Academic background
Excellent communication skills in English, additional language skills are an asset
Good computer and organisational skills, good representation skills
Capability of working independently in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment
Be reliable and capable of paying close attention to detail
Be committed to the WFC’s vision and mission of long-term sustainability and equity
An EU work permit is required. The WFC offers interns some support for living costs, an attractive
international work environment as well as training possibilities. Candidates should have EU citizenship
or a relevant visa for the time of the internship.
