EUROPIA 6 month internship in EU Affairs Europia

EUROPIA (a Division of CONCAWE) is looking for a 6 month intern for its advocacy division:
Purpose of the Role and specific responsibilities
1.Analyse EU policy and legislation on energy and climate issues (e.g. ETS, Fuel Quality Directive, 2030 energy and climate policy, Refining competitiveness…)
  • compile data/statistics
  • prepare presentation charts or briefing notes
  • participate in internal working group meetings and discussions
2. Provide analytical and material preparation support to EUROPIA staff in their advocacy role by
  • analysing official reports and documents from the EU institutions
  • preparing synthesis and advocacy plans
  • attending meetings with EU officials & EP public hearings
3. Extend and check accuracy of the actual database of relevant information for use in EUROPIA’ presentation and publications.

EUROPIA represents the European Petroleum industry, the downstream sector of Europe’s oil industry.
EUROPIA is an organisation whose 42 members account for almost 100% of EU petroleum refining capacity and over 75% of EU motor fuel retail sales.
EUROPIA as a leading Industry Representative aims at contributing pro-actively and constructively to the development of policies to safeguard the secure and sustainable manufacturing, supply and use of petroleum products by providing competent and expert advice to the EU Institutions, Member State Governments and the wider community.

Professional Profile:
Education & Experience
  • Graduate higher education (Master in Economics/Politics, …)
  • Previous experience within EU institutions or organisations
  • working in close relationship with EU institutions
  • Strong interest in EU institutions /policy making
Skills & Competencies
  • Good working knowledge of English: oral and written
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills in data collection &
  • interpretation
  • Computer literate
  • Self starter and autonomous in his/her work
  • Well organised
  • Flexible and team oriented
  • Permit to work in the EU
Organisational Fit: Reports to the Policy Director
The internship is remunerated.
