The Magdalene College invites applications for Roosevelt Scholarships
from well-qualified British and Canadian candidates who will be
studying at the University of Cambridge for the MPhil degree in matters
relevant to Anglo-American relations. Successful candidates will have
satisfied the provisional requirements of the Board of Graduate Studies
of the University of Cambridge and have been accepted for registration
on one of its post-graduate programmes, most probably in the Department
of Politics and International Studies (POLIS). The application deadline is 31 May 2014.
About Scholarship: The Roosevelt scholarship is named after William Donner Roosevelt (1932 – 2003); a leading North American philanthropist, his paternal grandfather was Franklin D. Roosevelt and his maternal grandfather William Donner. Eligibility: -Candidates must have graduated at a University before 1 October 2014. Consideration will normally be restricted to those who have a record of academic excellence consistent with the proposed field of study and who can demonstrate the potential to make a significant contribution to the broader life of Magdalene College, as well as to the wider interests of the Atlantic Studies Programme at the University of Cambridge. In determining the value of the Scholarship in individual cases, the College will take into account a candidate’s income from all sources

Duration: The Scholarship is tenable for one year from 1 October 2014.

-For a UK / European Union applicant: Maintenance grant: £11,750 (2013 – 2014 cost for 12 months; adjusted if on 9 month or 11 month course) University fees: £6,617 (2013 – 2014 cost for 12 months; adjusted if on 9 month or 11 month course)College fees £2,424 (2013 -2014 cost) Total: £20,791. -For an applicant of Canadian nationality: Maintenance grant: £11,750 (2013 – 2013 cost for 12 months; adjusted if on 9 month or 11 month course) University fees: £18,045 (2013 – 2014 cost for 12 months; adjusted if on 9 month or 11 month course) College fees: £2,424 (2013 – 2014 cost)Total: £32,219.
