Are you a UK-based music entrepreneur interested in discovering new music from India and around the world? Apply here to participate in TWO major music events in India: Nokia Music Connects forum in Mumbai (16-17 November, 2011) and then attend Un-Convention at NH7 Festival in Pune (18-20 November 2011).
Un-Convention at NH7 Festival believes the music industry of tomorrow relies on the independent, grassroots organisations of today. Taking this to heart, the Un-Convention is an open platform for music entrepreneurs and others to share insights on important issues that will carve the future of the music industry in India, the UK, and globally. Spread over three days, the event includes performances, discussions, workshops and activities around a range of issues such as: festivals, artist/brand management, sponsorship markets, public funding, A&R, music production, touring, writing/publishing, concert/album production, digital distribution, technology, and more! This year Un-Convention will happen along side India’s largest indie rock music festival – NH7, with 6 stages and about 300 artists from India and across the world performing it's a great place to see live acts and network with the who’s who of Indian music.
Who? We’re looking for participants aged 20-40, with at least three years of industry experience, who have shown their ability in the promotion and development of the music sector in the UK, in either a commercial and/or public context. We are particularly looking for those focussed on social media, including any digital tools or business models relating to music; promoters, managers, agents and venue/festival programmers; those representing record labels, A&R, production, recording, engineering, music licensing, marketing and distribution fields. We are also happy to hear from those who aren’t self employed, but still demonstrate entrepreneurial ability, and from those in social enterprise/not for profit sectors. Please note that you will be required to speak at panels about your experiences and, more broadly, the industry in the UK.
When? Music Connects is taking place from 16-17 November, 2011 in Mumbai; NH7 festival will happen in Pune (2 hours away from Mumbai) on 18-20 November, 2011.
How Much? The British Council will cover flights, visas, entry costs and accommodation in Mumbai (16-17 November) only. Participants are invited to attend NH7 but they will have to pay for their accommodation.
