Global Investigative Journalism Conference 2011

The Global Investigative Journalism Conference (GIJC) has since the first conference in Copenhagen 2001 developed into the world most important event for investigative reporters. At GIJC reporters from all over the world exchange experiences, get new contacts, attend workshops, arrange transnational investigations and expand their networks.
GIJC 2011 in Kyiv is arranged by “Scoop”, a support structure for investigative reporting in East – and Southeast Europe, in close cooperation with several Ukrainian centres for investigative reporting.
Some of the speakers include:
  • Carolina Neurath, Svenska Dagbladet, Sweden, has just been rewarded the “Golden Spade” from the Swedish Association of Investigative Reporters.
  • Sheila Coronel, USA/Philippines, is now a professor but famous for her work exposing corruption in her home country.
  • Florian Klenk from the magazine Falter in Vienna, Austria. Florian Klenk has been awarded for his investigations and is these months  covering a huge corruption scandal in his country.
  • Charles “Chuck” Lewis, USA, who for years has investigated the situation of investigative reporting.
The network behind GIJC is GIJN – Global Investigative Journalism Network.
