Advocacy Assistant Internship


Save the Children is the world's leading independent organisation for children. We work in 120 countries. We save children's lives; we fight for their rights; we help them fulfil their potential.

We are currently looking for an Advocacy Assistant (Internship) to be based at our office in Brussels. This is a fantastic 6-month development opportunity for you to gain experience in a leading international not for profit organisation (iNGO) working for children, and in particular, to deepen your understanding of issues relating to the rights of children in developing countries. During your time with us you'll also have an opportunity to further your knowledge of the European institutions as well as the links between of work of Save the Children at Brussels level and that of our European members.

To be suited to this opportunity, you'll have a passion for working in the NGO sector and ideally have a postgraduate degree in the field of international development, international relations, and European studies (linked to international development). You will also have some prior knowledge of the European Union and its institutions. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be fluent in written and spoken English and, ideally, have knowledge of French or another European language. You will be able to manage small or medium size projects, whilst working with a rapidly-changing set of priorities.
