Applications are invited for PhD studentship in Investigation
of Context Effects in Cognition at Swansea University. Candidates
should have a BSc and preferably an MSc in Psychology, Cognitive
Science, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related
subjects. The scholarship covers UK/EU tuition fees, plus a tax-free
maintenance allowance of £13,863 per annum for a maximum of three years.

About Scholarship: Cognitive processing is remarkably adaptive: performance in everyday tasks as well as in laboratory experiments is highly sensitive to contingencies in the environment such that changes in environmental statistics are quickly met with corresponding changes in behaviour. This ability to adapt to the current environment is a central feature of cognition, yet widely different theories are invoked to explain these dynamics in different domains.

Eligibility: This studentship is open to UK/EU applicants.
-Candidates should have a BSc (or equivalent) and preferably an MSc (or equivalent) in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related subjects.
-Candidates should also have substantial computer programming experience and quantitative skills. Prior experience in collecting / working with EEG data is desirable, but not essential.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate tutorials, practical demonstrating and assessment period.
