2013-2014 Doctoral Fellowships for Foreign Students at University of Padua in Italy

University of Padua is inviting applications for 15 doctoral fellowships for the academic year 2013/2014. The duration of the doctoral courses is three years, commencing on 1st January 2014 and ending on 31st December 2016. Fellowship of 13.638,47 Euro per year (gross value) will be awarded to candidates by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo. The successful candidates will be offered full board and lodging at the ESU–Regional Agency for the Right to Education. 
About Scholarship: For the academic year 2013/2014, the University of Padua, Italy is offering 15 research fellowships for foreign students to attend Doctoral Courses. The duration of the doctoral courses is three years, commencing on 1st January 2014 and ending on 31st December 2016.
Each position will be covered by a fellowship of 13.638,47 Euro per year (gross value), fully funded by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo. During the 3-year doctoral programme (2014-2016), the successful candidates will be offered full board and lodging at the ESU – Regional Agency for the Right to Education. The relevant charges will be covered by the University of Padua through Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo.
Study: Fellowships are offered for studying Animal and Food Science, Arterial Hypertension and Vascular Biology, Astronomy, bio medicine, Bio sciences and Biotechnology, Civil and environmental engineering sciences, Crop Science, Departmental medicine and health planning sciences, Earth Science, economics and management, fusion science and engineering, Industrial engineering, information engineering, History, criticism and preservation of cultural heritage, International law and private and labour law, Land, environment, resources and health, Linguistics, Philology and Literary science, Management Engineering and Real Estate Appraisal, materials engineering and science, Mathematical science, Mechatronics and product innovation engineering, Medical, Clinical and Experimental Sciences, Molecular Sciences, oncology and surgical oncology, Pedagogical, Educational and Instructional Science, Pharmacological science, Philosophy, Physics, Psychological sciences, Social Sciences: Interactions, communications and cultural constructions, Space Sciences, Technologies and Measurements, Statistical Sciences and Veterinary sciences.

Eligibility: In order to be deemed eligible, applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
-have a foreign (non-Italian) citizenship;
-have a foreign (non-Italian) residence. Candidates must be in possession of this requirement within the deadline date.
-Be in possession of a foreign (non-Italian) academic qualification recognised as equivalent to the Diploma Degree / Degree / Master amounting to at least four years of full time university education and leading to a doctorate in the country where the studies were carried out. The date of award of the qualification must be no more than 8 years before the deadline of the call. For the sole purpose of this selection procedure, the qualification must be recognized equivalent to an Italian one by the Commission of the PhD course applied for (art. 4).
Scholarship Open for: Candidates of all nationalities (non-Italian) are eligible for these fellowships. 
Number of awards: For the academic year 2013/2014, the University of Padua, Italy is offering 15 research fellowships.

Selection Criteria: The evaluation will be based on the following criteria:
-Educational and professional curriculum: max 70 points
-Letters of reference: max 30 points
To be included in the final ranking, candidates must be awarded a minimum overall score of 70 points. 

Notification: The list of successful candidates shall be officially approved and issued by Rector’s Decree. This will be published by 15th November 2013 on: the ’albo ufficiale di Ateneo’ (official University register); the Università degli studi di Padova website.
