Languages and Social Sciences master Scholarship is offered by The
School of Languages and Social Sciences of Aston University. there are
three scholarships are offered for value of £2000 for students with
native speaker competence in English and ten £1000 scholarships are
offered for all MSc/MA applications: full-time, part-time, on campus and
distance learning students. Native speaker scholarships are towards the
cost of the MA tuition fees while all MSc/MA scholarships are towards
tuition fees in the 2013/14 academic year.
Description
The university of Aston in UK will provide £2000 bursaries towards the cost of the MA tuition fees for students with native speaker competence in English. In return, the students will complete up to six hours a week pastoral work for the school. The exact nature of this work will be decided at the beginning of the programme but may include providing support to international Postgraduate and International Year Abroad students, the IELTS team, deliver speaking classes for our IYA (International Year Abroad) and KYA (Kansai Year Abroad) students, help conference and workshop organisers, academic visitors or students with special needs. The work will often take place at different times every week – depending on the projects you support. Students are not eligible to apply for these scholarships if you already hold a Commonwealth Scholarship or Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarship.

Eligibility
The candidate must hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an MA/MSc programme at LSS commencing at Aston University October 2013.
Application Procedure
For the consideration for the bursary, applicants must submit an essay of approximately 1000 words via E-mail. Native speaker competence scholarship students will submit on ‘What do you consider to be your major strengths and weaknesses? How would you be able to support international students on programmes in the School of Languages and Social Sciences?’ and students of on campus and distance learning scholarships will submit on ‘How will the LSS MA/MSc Scholarship help achieve your academic and professional career goals?’.
