About Scholarship: Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites outstanding researchers with a PhD degree in science and technology to apply for the prestigious Nanyang-DSO Post-Doctoral Fellowship (NDPD) awards. The NDPD scheme provides selected young and promising scientists to conduct and lead research that is relevant to defence in Singapore/NTU. Outstanding scientists and researchers in the relevant discipline of science or technology from a reputable university are eligible to apply for the NDPD. Candidate must possess a PhD degree and postdoctoral working experience. PhD degree must have been conferred at the point of the submission of application.

Eligibility:
-Outstanding scientists and researchers in the relevant discipline of science or technology from a reputable university are eligible to apply for the NDPD. Candidate must possess a PhD degree AND postdoctoral working experience. PhD degree must have been conferred at the point of the submission of application.
-Research project proposals which are already funded by other agencies or being considered for funding by other agencies are not eligible for funding under the NDPD Scheme. The NDPD fellow shall not apply for other funding support, unless approval has been given by the NDPD funding agency.

Duration: It is a 2-year flexible research grant of up to S$1 million that commensurate with the scope of work.
Value: The NDPD scheme provides selected young and promising scientists to conduct and lead research that is relevant to defence in Singapore/NTU. It offers:
-Independence to pursue a research career in Singapore
-A 2-year flexible research grant of up to S$1 million that commensurate with the scope of work
-Possible conversion to tenure-track appointment at the end of the NDPD.
-Tenure-track position will be offered with the NDPD award if the candidate meets the
-required criteria for tenure track appointment by the university. Please check the relevant

Notification: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to Singapore in July 2013 to present their research plans, meet local researchers and identify potential collaborators.
