Bournemouth University is offering Vice-Chancellor PhD Scholarships to
eligible students studying for a PhD at BU. Scholarships will be
awarded on a full-time basis for a period of 36 months or a part-time
basis for a period of 48 months. The Scholarship covers a waiver of the
full-time or exceptionally the part-time research student
fee. The application deadline is 30th May 2014.
About Scholarship: Outstanding PhD candidates wishing to study with a particular supervisor or research team can apply directly, independently or with the supervisory team. Scholarships provide a fee waiver only and will be allocated by the School or Faculty to outstanding applicants. The Scholarships are open to both UK/EU and International students who wish to study full-time (36 months) and, in exception, part-time (48 months) and are designed to appeal specifically to those with industry, business or government sponsorship. In addition, research costs, including field work and conference attendance, will be met.

Eligibility:
-Candidates for the Vice-Chancellor PhD Scholarship must demonstrate outstanding qualities and be motivated to complete a PhD in 3 years (4 years part-time).
-All candidates must satisfy the University’s minimum doctoral entry criteria for studentships of an honours degree at Upper Second Class (2.1) and/or an appropriate Masters degree. An IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 minimum (or equivalent) is essential for candidates for whom English is not their first language.
-In addition to satisfying basic entry criteria, BU will look closely at the qualities, skills and background of each candidate and what they can bring to their chosen research project in order to ensure successful and timely completion.
