Paid Internship European Boating Industry

European Boating Industry represents the leisure marine industry and aims at promoting and representing its interests in Europe. Our activities in the field of EU affairs cover a wide range of topics from safety & technical issues to environmental, navigation, business and tourism related issues.

In order to assist the Secretariat in Brussels, we are looking for a stagiaire/trainee.

Tasks of the Stagiaire/Trainee:

  • The daily monitoring of all developments on a European level and specifically from EU institutions, which could have an influence on the leisure marine industry;
  • Assisting the Secretary General in the regular reporting about important developments at a European level;
  • Assisting the Secretary General in the preparation and drafting of papers on EU policies and projects;
  • Assisting the Secretary General in preparing communication materials for publication on the organisation's website and/or other supports;
  • Assisting the Secretary General in the various European projects;
  • Attending various meetings in Brussels and outside.

The requirements of the applicant:

As Stagiaire/Trainee, we wish to appoint a candidate who is familiar with EU institutions and their functioning. We regard the ability to work in a small team with a high degree of autonomy as a prerequisite.

As an applicant you should satisfy the following:

  • University degree, possibly in EU affairs or technical sciences;
  • Possibly some experience or familiarity in EU affairs;
  • Knowledge of foreign languages (fluent spoken and written English, good knowledge of a further EU official language);
  • Interest in boating and water sports is a plus.

What we offer:

Initial contract of 6-month paid internship, with employment possibility after succesfull completion. The Stagiaire/Trainee will receive an indemnity and work under Belgian contract and conditions. The expected start date is 1st November 2013 at latest.
