The University of Leicester, the Worshipful Society of
Apothecaries and GW Pharmaceuticals are inviting applications from
outstanding postgraduates for three AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award PhD studentships,
to commence October 2013 or January 2014. UK/EU applicants can apply
for this studentship. These three year studentships will pay full-time
University UK/EU tuition fees and include an annual tax free stipend at
standard AHRC rates. Applicants must have a first-class or high upper
second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in history or a
relevant discipline and meet the University’s Standard English language
entry requirements.

Eligibility: Applicants must have a first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in history or a relevant discipline and meet the University’s Standard English language entry requirements. It is expected that applicants will have a relevant Masters degree with merit or distinction or be able to show evidence that they will achieve this before the start of the PhD programme.
In order to apply, applicants must fulfill both the academic and the residency criteria laid down by the AHRC.

-Have been resident in the UK or EU for the past three years for reasons other than education

Value: These three year studentships will pay full-time University UK/EU tuition fees and include an annual tax free stipend at standard AHRC rates (currently £13,726 a year). In addition, the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries will provide a bursary of £2,000 each for the first two studentships listed below and GW Pharmaceuticals will provide a bursary of £1,000.
