Internship European Cyclists Federation

The European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF), based in Brussels, is looking for a fulltime Intern for the Velo-city conference series and Events for a period of 5 to 6 months.
ECF represents the interests of bicycle users, is based in Brussels and has over 70 member organizations across 40 countries. As well as advocating for better cycling policies and promoting cycling at the international level in general, ECF has a range of programs including EuroVelo, the European cycle route network, the global networks “Scientists for cycling” and “Cities for Cyclists”, the Velo-city and Velo-city Global conference series. ECF is a main partner in several EU funded projects such as CYCLElogistics and B track B.
As an Intern, you will work in collaboration with the Velo-city Series Director and Manager in preparation of the Velo-city Vienna and Velo-city Global Adelaide. Your tasks will be focused on:
  • Organization of workshops and meetings
  • Evaluation of Velo-city Vienna (conduct evaluation process and write report)
  • Coordination of Velo-city preparation tasks
  • Social Media communications
  • Organization Velo-city Vienna (assist with planning of ECF booth and activities during the Velo-city week)
Requirements:
  • Fluency in English; any other language is an asset (additional knowledge of German will be favored)
  • Familiarity with tasks of conference/event management
  • Experience in a cross-cultural environment
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office
  • Ability to pay attention to details and meet tight deadlines
  • Shared commitment to ECF’s values on cycling
Terms:
  • Internship should start March/April 2013 and end 31st of July 2013.
  • Applicants should have their own health and work insurance.
  • EU work permit
Closing date for applications: Tuesday 3rd of December 2012. Interviews will be conducted from 5 to 12 December.
