is open to non-U.S. citizens living outside the United States. The
program is open by nomination only. Interested English language
professionals should contact the Public Affairs section of their local

The E-Teacher Scholarship Program offers English teaching professionals living outside of the United States the opportunity to take one of nine innovative, online graduate level classes through the University of Oregon. The courses explore major areas of the academic specialty of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
The successful applicants of this teacher scholarship will have opportunity to obtain the following skills:

- engage in an innovative distance-learning program using the latest in modern technology
- have direct access to U.S. experts
Eligibility
In general the interested applicants of this teacher scholarship should be highly motivated teachers, teacher trainers or ministry officials who are both dedicated to their own professional development and willing to share their knowledge with colleagues. In addition they must meet the following requirements:
- The ability to complete academic work at a U.S. university level (an advanced level of reading and writing in English, roughly equivalent to a minimum TOEFL score of 525).
- An understanding of English technical terms relating to computers and the Internet
- Consistent and reliable access to the Internet
- A familiarity with Windows, the Internet and web browsers and ability to create a Word document
- The ability to type in English well enough to perform online tasks in real-time and submit written assignments in a timely manner
- Approximately 10-20 hours per week to devote to the coursework
