The International Road Transport Union (IRU) is the world road transport organisation which upholds the interests of transport operators to ensure economic growth and prosperity via the sustainable mobility of people and goods by road worldwide.  
Our rapidly evolving and dynamic organisation in Brussels is looking for a 1 year full-time paid
Trainee in secretarial and administrative tasks
The incumbent will develop his/her secretarial skills as a member of the IRU Brussels team. The trainee will be responsible for providing an efficient and professional administrative support to the team.
Responsibilities
  • Act as first point of contact for external contacts and visitors, efficiently redirecting them towards relevant team member whilst providing excellent customer service at all times;
  • Maintain the IRU’s contact database by adding, updating contacts and proactively searching for any modifications within governments and the press;
  • Provide general secretarial support to the other team members as and when required (booking meetings, handling travel arrangements, filing, prepare Powerpoint presentations); 
  • Handle office work administration (stock, post, faxes, courier, shipments…);
  • Provide administrative support as required by the General Delegate.
Qualifications
  • Team worker, Independent and autonomous;
  • Able to respect deadlines and tight timing;
  • Excellent spoken and written English is a prerequisite, fluency in French and other languages would be an asset;
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office;
  • EU citizen or valid work permit.
