Work experience - social affairs EUROCITIES

EUROCITIES, the network of major European cities offers a work experience placement under the supervision of the policy advisor in the area of social affairs for a period of six months starting beginning of February 2015.
This area of work covers wide topics such as employment, social inclusion, migration and integration, housing and homelessness, health inequalities and education.
The placement will cover the following tasks:
  • monitoring policy initiatives and developments on the EU level;
  • support with administrative tasks;
  • drafting articles for EUROCITIES newsletter, updating EUROCITIES web pages, preparing briefing notes; and
  • organizing meetings and events.
We are looking for a person with:
  • bachelors degree;
  • knowledge of EU social and employment policy area and the EU institutions;
  • excellent English; and
  • good social and organisational skills, such as proactivity, team work and time management.
Command of other European languages and interest in the work of local authorities and urban affairs are assets. No prior work experience is necessary.
