Internship/Junior Advocacy Officer

EPF is a network of members of parliaments from across Europe who are committed to protecting the sexual and reproductive health of the world’s most vulnerable people, both at home and overseas. A internship as a Junior Advocacy Officer has become available.

Profile:

  • educated to degree level, preferably Masters, in politics, economics, international relations, development or related field;
  • languages: English and French, additional languages an asset;
  • experience required: at least 2 years relevant professional experience in EU affairs, international relations, development, public health, UN system;
  • Other skills: quick-learner, independent, availability to travel, creative, diplomatic, flexible, organized.

Tasks to include:

  • drafting briefing material, speeches, presentations, reports, notes;
  • assist with event organization (logistics);
  • assist with organization of major conferences;
  • will be involved in and provide support to a range of EPF advocacy activities;
  • other tasks as may become required.

Other:

  • Given nature of work, candidates should feel comfortable with working with a wide range of political views and have an affinity with the issues, particularly sexual and reproductive health and rights, population and pro-choice;
  • Must be flexible in working with a small but hard-working team of colleagues;
  • Travel may be required;
  • Remuneration: yes;
  • Fixed-term contract for 6 months;

  • Possibility of internship leading to extension or permanent employment;
  • Must be already able to legally work in Belgium.
