2013-14 National Scholarship Programme at Southampton Solent University in UK

National Scholarship Programme are available for pursuing undergraduate degree, foundation level of an undergraduate degree programme, HNC or other equivalent course at Southampton Solent University. 746 Scholarships are offered to the students, those family income is less than £25,000. 
About Scholarship: National Scholarships Programme will be available to new home and EU undergraduate students that come from disadvantaged backgrounds and want to start a programme of study in 2013-14,who have no previous experience of studying for an undergraduate award and whose tuition fees are over £6,000 for the year. To be eligible for this National Scholarship, applicants will need to meet both the Government national eligibility criteria and the additional University eligibility criteria. 
Study: Scholarships are provided for studying any one of the courses offered by the University. Course Level: These scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate degree programme, foundation level of an undergraduate degree programme, HNC or other equivalent course at Southampton Solent University. Eligibility: 
-Students with income less than £25,000 can apply.
-Enrolment on an undergraduate degree programme, foundation level of an undergraduate degree programme, HNC or other equivalent course.
-Home address (this is your address prior to joining university) within a low participation neighbourhood .
-Being in the care of a local authority for a minimum of 52 consecutive weeks immediately prior to beginning a programme of study at the University, and aged 24 or under. 

Scholarship Open for: The students of UK and EU can apply for these scholarship.
Number of awards: 746  
Value:
All eligible award holders will receive the maximum allowable of £1,000 in cash towards the cost of their course (not EU or part-time).
AND
Eligible award holders who reside in university accommodation will receive a partial accommodation waiver of £2,000 during the first year of study (including EU and part-time).
OR
Eligible award holders who do not reside in university accommodation will receive a fee waiver of £2,000 during the first year of study (including EU and part-time).
Students in attendance at the University on the first day of spring term, 6 January 2014, but who leave before the first day of summer term, 28 April 2014, will only be eligible for 50% of the award. Students still attending the University on the first day of summer term, 28 April, will be eligible for the full award. 

Selection Criteria: The University will use information that is already provided to it by SFE/SLC (or Students 1st for part time students) to assess an applicant’s eligibility for a National Scholarship. 
Notification: Students will be informed about the decision by the end of October 2013.

If you are a Foundation Level (Level 0) student, you will automatically be considered for the Foundation Level Tuition Fee Waiver first. Once all those awards have been given out you will then be considered for a National Scholarship award. There is no requirement to fill out both forms as the application process is the same.
