INTERNSHIP (part of your study programme) ADE ADE Analysis for Economic Decisions

ADE is a private consultancy company based in Louvain-la-Neuve, near Brussels.
It supports decision-makers in formulating, monitoring, implementing and evaluating public policies and strategies. ADE has three main areas of specialisation:

  • Assistance to macro-economic reforms and to regional development;
  • Rural development and environment;
  • Evaluation methodology.
ADE has also developed specific expertise in terms of support to developing the private sector in developing countries, development finance, and conflict prevention and peace building.
Key clients include the European Commission, the European Investment Bank (EIB), the United Nations, the Belgian cooperation, the French cooperation, ministries in EU and third countries, etc. (www.ade.eu).
We are currently looking for a TRAINEE to support our permanent staff in our area of expertise Regional development and economic policies, in particular to work on our yearly workshop called “ ”.
In November 2006, ADE created the Network of Macro-economists for Aid and Development Economics
- -, bringing together permanent ADE staff and top-level experts in the fields of public finance, macroeconomic and sectoral policies. These experts share the same vision of the role and commitment of consultants towards their clients. The network facilitates the elaboration of cutting-edge approaches and instruments, the delivery of services of the highest possible quality and the accumulation of technical competencies. The main event of the network is a one day workshop organized every year in December to capitalize the experience and to think towards innovative approaches and instruments. As trainee, you will participate to the organization of this event and be in close contact with experts.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Documentary analysis and review on the thematic of the seminar:
    • Data collection
    • Quantitative and qualitative research and analysis;
  • Practical organisation of the seminar;
  • Contact-making with experts.
PROFILE
MAIN SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Currently studying for a university degree in Economics, your internship would be part of your study programme;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Strong capabilities in qualitative and quantitative data analysis;
  • Strong writing and presentation skills;
  • Strong organisational and planning skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams;
  • Very good command of the main computer software packages (Word, PPT and Excel);
  • French-native speaker with an excellent level of written and spoken English;
  • Available from September to December 2014.
WOULD BE AN ASSET:
  • Knowledge of development cooperation issues.
