Scholarship Description: With a view to promoting human resource capacities in the developing countries and to enhancing international understanding and friendship among nations and the people of Poland, the Polish National Commission for UNESCO and the UNESCO Chair for Science, Technology, and Engineering Education at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow have placed forty-five (45) fellowships of six (6) months duration each, in Poland, starting on 1 October 2015. The beneficiaries of these fellowships will be given the opportunity to undertake an individual research programme in the field of Science, Technology and Engineering.

What does it cover?
-Free tuition and access to the university facilities based on the local regulations.
-Accommodation at the AGH UST Student Campus organised for fellows by the UNESCO AGH Chair.
-Monthly allowance of 1350 PLN (approximately US $450) corresponding to the salary of a local junior research fellow. Thus, all living expenses and accommodation in Poland are to be borne by the fellow with this allowance; and;
-A one especial allowance of 1350 PLN to be paid upon arrival in Poland, this sum will cover different activities related to your stay in Krakow, such as an obligatory medical check-up upon arrival (in accordance with the internal regulations for all students); cultural, historical and/or touristic visits, conferences, workshops, and seminars related to your studies.
-No provision to finance or lodge family members is made. At the end of the research studies, the beneficiaries will receive a certificate attesting to their attendance at the host institution, this certificate will be given after receipt of the requested reports and financial clearance from the Institution.
Facilities offered by UNESCO:
-International travel expenses: (by the most direct, economical route) from the beneficiary’s country to and from Poland will be covered by UNESCO under its Regular Programme Budget.
-Health insurance for fellowship beneficiaries who are declared medically fit: UNESCO fellowship holders may be covered by a health insurance policy, taken-out by the Organization for the duration of fellowship. The costs of this health insurance is subscribed to and covered by UNESCO on behalf of awarded fellows.

Notification: Only the selected candidates will receive a letter through their respective National Commissions for UNESCO. All application should be endorsed by the National Commission from the country of the candidate.
How to Apply: Candidatures should be submitted per invited Member State. Original applications in duplicate must be channeled through the National Commission for UNESCO of the candidate’s country and communicated to Mr Stoyan Bantchev, Chief, Participation programme and Fellowships Section, by 12 June 2015 at the latest to UNESCO mailing address. An advance copy of the application should be sent by fax or scanned by e-mail. Applications should have imperatively the following attachments in duplicate:
-Two photographs attached to the applications (4×6 cm);
-Certified copies (in English) of Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree obtained; and,

2016-2017 Quebec MELS Merit Scholarship Program for Foreign Students, Canada

Applications are invited for Quebec Merit Scholarship Program available for foreign nationals to undertake doctoral research, postdoctoral and short term research program in Québec. Candidates cannot apply directly to the agency they must be nominated by a University. Doctoral Research Scholarship is valued at $25,000 per year, postdoctoral fellowship is valued at $35,000 per year and short-term research or professional development is valued at $3,000 a month. Only candidates nominated by a University may submit an application to the provincial competition. The deadline for sending scholarship applications is November 1st, 2015.

Preselection of Candidates: Only candidates preselected by a Québec university, the Réseau Trans-Tech, TERI University, the SRE or the CONACYT as of September 23rd, 2015, can be part of this competition. Candidates to the Québec-China scholarship must be preselected by the CSC as of March 31st, 2016.
How to Apply: Preselected candidates are assigned a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and a password. They must then complete an e-form to which will be attached the required documents. The E-forms are available only in the secure zone of the FRQNT. They must be completed and sent electronically.
Scholarship Application Deadline: The deadline for sending scholarship applications is November 1st, 2015, at midnight (coordinated universal time UTC-5 Est time zone) (a different closing date has to be confirmed for the students preselected by the CSC). Stagiaire Reporting ACTED

ACTED est une association de solidarité internationale française qui a pour vocation de soutenir les populations vulnérables de par le monde et de les accompagner dans la construction d’un futur meilleur en apportant une réponse adaptée à des besoins précis depuis 1993. ACTED vient en aide aux populations touchées par les crises grâce à une approche à la fois globale et locale, multidisciplinaire et adaptée à chaque contexte. Ses équipes (4000 personnes) interviennent dans 35 pays afin de faire face aux situations d’urgence, pour soutenir les projets de réhabilitations et accompagner les dynamiques de développement.

Profil pays
Le siège d’ACTED s’est installé à Paris en 2000 dans le but de coordonner les interventions de l’organisation à l’échelle mondiale.

Aujourd’hui le siège est composé de 60 personnes dans les départements RH, Finance, Reporting, Audit, HUB logistique et Communication. i.             The ILO Brussels Internship Programme:
The internship is meant for enthusiastic young men and women looking for work experience in an international affairs environment based in Brussels.
ii.             The purpose of granting internship is threefold:
a.         to enable carefully selected graduate students to participate in the multicultural and intergovernmental work of the ILO;
b.         to offer the opportunity to the participants to acquire knowledge of the ILO's environment and to deepen their understanding of the ILO's goals, policies and activities;
c.         to enable the ILO-Brussels office to benefit from the assistance of persons with relevant knowledge and skills in areas within the scope of the mandate of the ILO.
iii.                The tasks will include:
research on various policy issues including the drafting of analytical papers and reports on issues related to ILO's activities;
monitor and report on EU policy developments relevant to the ILO;
assist in organising events, attend conferences and meetings, prepare minutes and reports, assist in the preparation of input and presentations;
assist in developing content for the ILO-Brussels website (www.ilo.org/brussels);
perform administrative support and assistance;
carry out any other tasks relating to the work of the Office, as requested by the Director of the ILO-Brussels Office.
iv.             Eligibility and prerequisites:
                Applicants must:
a.        be in their last year of a Master degree or above, or have completed their studies no earlier than one year prior to this application preferably in Political Science, International Relations, Law or Economics;
b.        have a strong interest in international and European social and employment issues and a basic knowledge of the ILO, EU institutions and the UN system;
c.         be proficient in English, knowledge of Dutch and/or French would be an asset;
d.        have excellent editorial skills in English;
e.        be computer literate;
f.          have an adequate health insurance;
g.        the intern must meet all expenses for travel and subsistence.

v.         Requirements:

Candidates can apply for ILO internship only if:
a.        They have no close relative serving in the ILO.
b.        This is their first and only internship with the ILO.

vi.         Conditions:

Research Internship Democratic Progress Institute

The Democratic Progress Institute (DPI) is seeking to appoint several interns with an interest in our work relating to conflict resolution. We are offering a number of placements to outstanding candidates.   Admission to our internship program is on a rolling-basis, lasting at least three months, and is unpaid. The successful candidates will be current or recent postgraduates or at post-doctoral level.  

We are looking for interns with strong research skills and academic excellence, as well as organisational and IT skills and proven interest and knowledge in our areas of focus; namely conflict resolution and democratic advancement. Additionally, selected interns may be asked to attend conferences and DPI activities, to write briefs and take detailed notes on behalf of the Institute, therefore touch-typing and transcribing experience is valued. Interns will often be asked to work on an in-depth research project and should be prepared to be self-motivated and work to high level research briefs independently. Applicants should also work well as part of a team and be willing to contribute to the day to day running of the organisation.

The chosen candidates will contribute to the capacity of the Institute’s work through focusing on relevant research projects and assisting in our activities, which include roundtable discussions, comparative studies and seminars in a variety of regions worldwide. The Association is the voice, at European level, of 23 national associations, representing together about 50.000 European historic houses to the institutions, the politicians, the media and the enterprises:

 Responsibilities
Conduct desk research related to fundraising with a special focus on European bilateral donors, and European media news on peacebuilding issues;

Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for College of Technology Students, 2016

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) invites applications for college scholarships available for international students to study at a Japanese college of technology. A graduated grantee will be awarded a diploma and an associate degree. The scholarship period will last for four years from April 2016 to March 2020, including one-year preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects due to be provided upon arrival in Japan. For scholarship grantees majoring in maritime engineering, the scholarship period will be four and a half years, lasting up to September 2020.

Eligibility: The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) is now accepting applications from overseas students for study in Japan. (1) Nationality: Applicants must have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan. Applicants with no official nationality are also eligible to apply. An applicant who has Japanese nationality at the time of application is not eligible. However, persons with dual nationality who hold Japanese nationality and whose place of residence at the time of application is outside of Japan are eligible to apply as long as they choose the nationality of the foreign country and give up their Japanese nationality by the date of their arrival in Japan. Applicant screening will be conducted at the Japanese diplomatic mission in the country of applicant’s nationality.

If a grantee graduates from a college of technology and is admitted for enrollment in an advanced course at a college of technology or university as a junior transferee, he/she may have the period of his/her scholarship extended upon successful examination by MEXT and provided that he/she has outstanding academic achievement that meets certain criteria. If a grantee completes an advanced course at a college of technology and satisfies the requirements established by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation, he/she may apply to the Institution for a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
What does it cover?
1) Allowance: 117,000 yen per month. (In case that the recipient research in a designated region, 2,000 or 3,000 yen per month will be added. The monetary amount each year may be subject to change due to budgetary reasons.) The scholarship is cancelled in principle if the recipient is absent from the college of technology or preparatory Japanese-teaching institution for an extended period.
2) Traveling costs:
-Transportation to Japan: The recipient will be provided, according to his/her itinerary and route as designated by MEXT, with an economy-class airplane ticket from the international airport nearest to his/her home country residence (The address in the country of the recipient’s nationality stated in the application form is in principle regarded as the recipient’s “home country residence.) to the New Tokyo International Airport or any other international airport that the appointed university usually uses. Expenses such as inland transportation from his/her home address to the international airport, airport tax, airport usage fees, special taxes on travel, or inland transportation within Japan will NOT be covered.
-Transportation from Japan: In principle, the recipient who returns to his/her home country within the fixed period after the expiration of his/her scholarship will be provided, upon application, with an economy-class airplane ticket for travel from the New Tokyo International Airport or any other international airport that the appointed university usually uses to the international airport nearest to his/her home address.
3) Tuition and Other Fees: Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation, and tuition at universities will be paid by the Japanese government.
Selection Criteria:In cooperation with the government of the applicants’ countries the Japanese diplomatic missions in those countries will conduct primary screening of applicants by means of submitted application documents, interviews and academic examinations. All applicants wishing to study (4) Materials engineering must sit for examinations in Japanese, English, mathematics, and chemistry. All applicants wishing to study in fields other than (4) Materials engineering must sit for examinations in Japanese, English, mathematics, and physics. Applicants who have been selected through this primary screening will be recommended to MEXT. MEXT will then conduct the final selection of the recommended applicants and decide the scholarship grantees. MEXT may select candidates from each field of study.
Notification: Results of the primary screening will be notified to each applicant on the date designated by the Japanese diplomatic mission.
