Eligibility:
Applicants must possess or expect to be awarded a Distinction in their Masters Degree from a UK university. Applicants with a non-UK degree must be in the top rank and will be assessed by their referees and transcript. Applicants with a Merit in their Masters Degree may apply but will not be given preference. Candidates currently completing a Masters degree are welcome to apply.
Applicants must have also an offer of admission to the full-time department of economics in the field of economics of food and agriculture with a dissertation topic focussing on the oil and fats trade.
Open to Home/EU and Overseas Applicants.
Applicants must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS as soon as possible but no later than 1 June 2015. If your offer is conditional on English, please arrange your English test and ensure you meet the English requirements as soon as possible.
Important Information:
Candidates will be assessed on academic merit by a Selection Panel consisting of three academic members. The assessment of your application will be based on the information in your application. Selectors will be looking at the degree results and also at academic references, statement and other relevant information.

A complete application for admission includes transcripts, an explanation of the grading system for any degrees obtained outside of the UK, two references, CV, research proposal and a personal statement. The panel will be considering your scholarship application TOGETHER with your online application for admission.  Please note that complete application for admission can take up to 4 weeks to be considered by the Department, although this duration can vary depending on the time of year.  You should be prepared to wait up to 6 weeks in busy periods.
Once all the information has been received by the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at University of London and the assessment of the submitted documents is complete, you will be informed about your selection in the same.
