Insurance Europe is the European insurance and reinsurance federation. Through its 34 member bodies — the national insurance associations — Insurance Europe represents all types of insurance and reinsurance undertakings, eg pan-European companies, monoliners, mutuals and SMEs. Insurance Europe, which is based in Brussels, represents undertakings that account for around 95% of total European premium income. Insurance makes a major contribution to Europe's economic growth and development.
European insurers generate premium income of over €1 100bn, employ nearly one million people and invest almost €7 500bn in the economy.
For our Macro-Economics, life and pensions department, we are looking for a (m/f) Intern Economics and Statistics
Function
To provide support to the Macro-economics, Life and Pensions department in processing, analysing and interpreting data on various subject matters relevant for Insurance Europe.
The intern’s tasks will include:
- Update and management of Insurance Europe’s statistical database;
- Prepare and analyse data for processing by organizing information and checking for any inaccuracies;
- Assists in the analysis of macro-economic data, compiles reports and charts that describe and interpret findings of analyses;
- Other day-to-day duties as assigned under supervision of the head of department.
Profile
- Strong computing skills, especially in Excel and Access;
- Strong analytical and organisational skills;
- Team-player;
- Proactive;
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
- Some understanding of the insurance industry is an asset;
- Proficiency in English.
