2013 Commonwealth Scholarships, UK

Commonwealth Scholarships Commission offers Two Scholarships for Master’s/PhD Students from Mauritius, UK 2013
About Scholarship: Applications are invited from qualified Mauritian candidates for the award of two Commonwealth Scholarships, one male and one female, tenable in the UK as from October 2013. 
Study Subjects: Education, Health, Economic growth and the Private Sector, Governance & Conflict, Climate and Environment, Water and Sanitation, Food and Nutrition, Humanitarian Disasters and Emergencies
Course Level: Masters and PhD programme
Scholarship By: Commonwealth Scholarships Commission
Location: UK 
Eligibility: For a Master’s Degree:
-SC/GCE ‘O’ level with credits in at least five subjects including English Language at one and the same sitting.
-HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level with three subjects at Principal level or equivalent qualification obtained at one and the same sitting.
-A first degree of at least Upper Second Class Honours level or equivalent.
For Ph.D :
-HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level with three subjects at Principal level or equivalent qualification obtained at one and the same sitting.
-A first degree of at least Second Class Honours level or equivalent; and (iii) A relevant Master’s degree or equivalent.
Selection criteria: Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom will make the final selection according to criteria which include:
-Academic merit
-Likely development impact that candidates will have after their award
-Quality of candidate does study/research plan.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Yes
Number of awards: Two Commonwealth Scholarships, one male and one female, tenable in the UK.
Cover: The Scholarship covers, inter alia, airfare, tuition and examination fees and maintenance allowance. 
Notification: Only the best qualified candidates will be nominated. Candidates who have not been informed of their nomination within eight weeks as from the closing date for application should consider that they have not been selected.
