Internship - Conference Assistant

The Conference
The Oxford Analytica Conference: Global Horizons 2016 will take place from 21-23 September at Christ Church, Oxford, UK.
Global Horizons is an annual event attended by up to 200 Senior Executives from over 25 countries worldwide.
Over a 3-day programme, participants will attend a number of sessions in various formats led by senior experts from Oxford Analytica’s global network. The conference closes with a black-tie dinner at Blenheim Palace.
One intern is required over the summer months to help with the organisation of this unique three-day event, with individual responsibilities and an assigned job role.
Overview of Role
On a day-to-day basis, the Conference Assistant will be required to support Oxford Analytica’s Conference Manager with preparation and planning for the firm’s annual international conference, Global Horizons. The role will focus on the coordination of the conference speakers and experts and involves a high level of administrative work therefore strong computer skills, excellent written English and attention to detail are essential.
Skills and Knowledge Required
Excellent organisation skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Excellent written and spoken English skills
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2013 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Confident telephone manner
Flexible work attitude - long working hours will be required close to the event
Team player who works well under pressure
Work experience relevant to the job role is preferred
Meets any required visa regulations
Experience in a client facing role desirable
Time commitment:
We are looking for someone to begin from approximately 18th July to 30th September 2016, with some flexibility. Exact dates will be provided nearer to the time.
Working hours: 9am – 5.30pm (will increase closer to the Conference)

A basic hourly pay of £7.00, increasing to £7.50 during the Conference Week – National Living Wage will apply if relevant
Minimum 37.5 hours per week with increased hours in the build-up to the conference
