Eligibility:
To apply for the Studentship the Eligibility Criteria are as follows:-
The award is for a full time postgraduate PhD research student, who is from the UK/EU only, and who will reside in or around the London area for the duration of their doctoral studies.
Only applicants who have completed the online application process to the PhD program prior to the funding submission deadline and who have notified us on the appropriate section of the application form that they want Law and History Studentship funding will be considered.
The recipient must have a strong academic background at undergraduate and graduate level in a humanities subject, such as law, history, politics or a related Social Science discipline.
The award is for new applicants looking to enroll at the beginning of the coming academic year in October 2015. Therefore, existing Phd Students who enrolled prior to September are not eligible to apply for the award. For applicants currently on MA courses, to be eligible to apply for this award your degree course must finish and you must graduate (formally receive confirmation of your final overall mark) prior to September.
Important Information:
The University is looking for a highly motivated candidate, with a strong academic record, who would be at home with and wishes to be involved in a truly interdisciplinary project, drawing on law, history, politics and the social sciences.

To apply for the above scholarship / award / grant you should submit the following documents and should possess the following:
Applications must be directed via the online application process to the PhD Admissions Administrator. All candidates must submit a short research proposal (1000 words maximum) on a topic they wish to base their doctoral studies on. This proposal must be related to the funding topic area and will be assessed for coherence and clarity, familiarity with the relevant literature, affinity to and compatibility with the parent project, a realistic research plan and practical timeline. In addition to submitting a research proposal, you must complete the main PhD application process by the deadline date in order to be considered.
Once all the information has been received by the School of History and the Department of Law and the assessment of the submitted documents is complete, you will be informed about your selection in the same.
