Internship EIBF - European & International Booksellers Federation

The European & International Booksellers Federation
is offering a 6 month internship  with compensation – Start on 24 August 2015
The European & International Booksellers Federation [“EIBF”] www.eibf-booksellers.org  is a non-commercial umbrella organisation representing national Booksellers Associations in the European Union, the EEA and outside of Europe. Through its members, EIBF speaks on behalf of more than 25,000 individual booksellers. Depending on the country, booksellers represented include independent booksellers, national bookshop chains, supermarkets, internet retailers and other cultural or general outlets selling books.
The EIBF is looking for an intern to assist in its work in 2015-2016. The intern needs to be able to cover a range of tasks, mainly lobby & communication-oriented towards the European institutions and under the guidance of the Director & the EU Affairs & Communication Officer.
Interest and knowledge of Worl Press  & in social media  is an asset.
A high proficiency of spoken and written English is an absolute must.  Knowledge of German is considered a strong asset.
In addition
A very good knowledge and  a real interest in  European affairs, and in politics in general
Team player, outspoken however measured personality, aware of protocol  and political representation constraints in terms of behaviour and appearance
Eager to learn and with strong social skills
Capable of initiative, at ease on the phone and in meetings
Capable of working alone and  prioritizing, proactive personality
Capable of producing work that is of a professional level
EIBF being a very small federation, the intern has to be “hands-on” and able to multi-task.
