Study Grants for International Students at University of Bologna in Italy, 2016-2017

Over 40 study grants will be available for entry in 2016-2017 to international students. Applicants must be applying in first, single and second cycle degree programmes at the Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna.
Grants are divided as follows: 8 study grants for students applying in first cycle and single cycle degree programmes and 32 study grants for students registering in second cycle degree programmes.
The University of Bologna, founded in 1088, was the first university and is the oldest in the world. It was the first place of study to use the term universitas for the corporations of students and masters which came to define the institution, located in Bologna, Italy.
GRE and SAT scores are required.
Course Level: Grants are available for pursuing first, single or second cycle degree programmes.
Study Subject: Grants are awarded in all subjects available at the University of Bologna.
Scholarship Award: Each study grant is awarded for one academic year and amounts to a total of €11,059, gross of all charges for the beneficiary’s account.

Eligibility: Applicant can apply for Unibo Action 2 if:
-they are in possession of (or about to obtain) a valid qualification for access to their chosen degree programme, issued by an Institution outside of the Italian educational system;
– they will sit one of the following tests by the application deadline:
SAT (if they are interested in registering in a first or single cycle degree programme)
GRE (if they are interested in registering in a second cycle degree programme)
-they are younger than 30 years

College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Application is open exclusively to candidates who are in possession of all the following requirements:
-the qualifications for admission to the chosen First, Single or Second Cycle degree programme were obtained in an institution outside of the Italian education system, after at least two years of attendance.
If the qualification for admission is a one year title, the prior qualification will be considered too. Qualifications issued by institutions of the Republic of San Marino do not satisfy this condition.
Applicants’ citizenship is not considered;
-they fulfil the access requirements foreseen for the chosen degree programme or will fulfil such requirements at the time of registration;
-they are not students at the University of Bologna of First, Single or Second Cycle degree programmes. Important! Those whose student career ended within A.Y. 2014/15 for any reason are not considered students. Withdrawals from studies should have been completed before the publication of this call.
-they have not already benefited from the study grant Unibo Action 2;
-they are not 30 years or older on the deadline of this call.
Test Requirement: SAT and GRE test are aptitude and skills assessment tests. The tests can be sat in authorised centres in various countries around the world; they are held in English. They must enroll for the tests on the websites of the organisations managing the tests. The codes needed to send test scores to the University of Bologna are: for SAT 6993; for GRE 7850.
Supporting Material: Applicants must obligatorily attach with their application:
-copy of their currently valid passport. EU citizens can attach copy of their identity document;
-copy of the score report of the SAT test (for students registering for First Cycle or Single Cycle degrees) or GRE test (for students registering for Second Cycle degrees). The SAT or GRE tests must be complete with all sections and must have been sat not earlier than 5 years before, and not later than 29 February 2016 (SAT test) or 31 March 2016 (GRE test), otherwise they won’t be considered. Next to this, it is mandatory for applicants to send the official score reports through the organizations in charge of the tests (College Board and ETS).

Newcastle University Overseas Research Scholarship in UK, 2016

Newcastle University is offering overseas research scholarship in 2016-17 academic year. The scholarship is available for research program.
Newcastle University’s aim is to be a world-class research-intensive university and deliver teaching and facilitate learning of the highest quality.
The university is governed by a number of statutory bodies. The Executive Board comprises the senior management team that has oversight of the day-to-day running of the University.

Applicants have been assessed as international/overseas for fees purposes, and are wholly or partially self-financing. Applicants need a good level of English language to study at Newcastle University. They’ll need to provide a recognised English language test or qualification unless you’re exempt. This is usually a test score of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, but requirements can vary between IELTS 6.0 to 8.0. All students need at least 5.5 in each sub-skill, or equivalent.

Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) for Developing Countries’ Students, 2016-2017

Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation is pleased to offer Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) for developing countries’ students. Fellowships are available for masters degree programmes, short courses and PhD studies at a Dutch higher education institution.
The NFP aims to help increase both the number and the competencies of skilled staff at a wide range of government and non-government organisations.
The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) promote capacity building within organisations in 51 countries by providing fellowships for training and education for professionals. The NFP is initiated and fully funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the budget for development cooperation.
Candidates must be a national of, and working and living in one of the countries on the NFP country. Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
Course Level: Fellowships are available for masters degree programmes, short courses and PhD Studies at a Dutch higher education institution which offers the NFP-qualified course.
Study Subject(s): Fellowships are awarded in all subjects offered by Dutch higher education institutions.
Scholarship Award: An NFP fellowship is intended to supplement the salary that the fellow should continue to receive during the study period. The allowance is a contribution towards the costs of living, the costs of tuition fees, visas, travel, insurance and thesis research. If applicable, the fellowship holder is expected to cover the difference between the actual costs and the amount of the personal NFP allowances.

Eligibility: The fellowships are awarded in a very competitive selection to highly motivated professionals who are in a position to introduce the newly-acquired skills and knowledge into their employing organisation. The NFP is meant for professionals who are nationals of and work and live in one of the 51 NFP countries. The countries have been classified into two categories (I and II). Category I countries are priority countries and will receive more fellowships. Candidates have to be nominated by their employer to be eligible for the fellowship. There also has to be a clear need for training within the context of the organisation. Applicants must meet a number of criteria that support the aim of the NFP to be eligible for a fellowship. To be eligible you:
-must be a national of, and working and living in one of the countries on the NFP country list;
-must have an employer’s statement that complies with the format EP-Nuffic has provided. All information must be provided and all commitments that are included in the format must be endorsed in the statement;
-must not be employed by an organisation that has its own means of staff-development. Organisations that are considered to have their own means for staff development are for example: multinational corporations (e.g. Shell, Unilever, Microsoft), large national and/or a large commercial organisations, bilateral donor organisations (e.g. USAID, DFID, Danida, Sida, Dutch ministry of Foreign affairs, FinAid, AusAid, ADC, SwissAid), multilateral donor organisations, (e.g. a UN organisation, the World Bank, the IMF, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, IADB) and international NGO’s (e.g. Oxfam, Plan, Care);
-must have an official and valid passport;
-must not receive more than one fellowship for courses that take place at the same time;
-must have a government statement that meets the requirements of the country in which the employer is established (if applicable).

The Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarships for Developing Countries

Description
Government of Japan offers ADB-Japan scholarship program for students in 2016-2017 academic session. Scholarships will be awarded to undertake postgraduate studies. It aims to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB’s developing member countries to pursue postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region.
Eligibility
A national of an ADB borrowing member (applicants from countries that are no longer borrowing from ADB are not eligible for the ADB-JSP Scholarship);
Gained admission to an approved MA/PhD course at an academic institution;
A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with superior academic record;
At least two (2) years of full-time professional working experience (acquired after a university degree) at the time of application;
Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills to be able to pursue studies;
Not more than 35 years old at the time of application (in exceptional cases, for programs which are appropriate for senior officials and managers, the age limit is 45 years old).
Scholarship
Scholarship can be taken at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region. The ADB-JSP provides:
full tuition fees;
a monthly subsistence and housing allowance;
an allowance for books and instructional materials;
medical insurance;
travel expenses;
for scholars engaged in research, a special grant may be available for thesis preparation.
How to Apply?
Applicants should request information and application forms from the chosen Academic Institution(s). Applications for scholarships should be sent at least six months prior to the planned time that you wish to commence studies. The completed Institution application form and required documentation, including the ADB-JSP Information Sheet form, should be submitted to the academic institution.
