BirdLife Europe and Central Asia is looking for
a Fundraising Intern – paid position.
BirdLife International is a global Partnership of
autonomous, national non-governmental conservation organizations with a
grassroots membership in 117 countries and territories. It works to
conserve wild birds, their habitats and global biodiversity by working with
people towards sustainability in the use of natural resources. BirdLife
International is the global authority on the status of bird species, has
unparalleled technical expertise in bird and biodiversity assessment, and
provides a global outreach through its national Partners and decentralized
Secretariat.
BirdLife Europe and Central Asia (ECA) is the coordinating
and servicing body of BirdLife International and acts as Regional Office.
It is a Partnership of 48 nature conservation organisations with almost
4,000 staff, 2 million members and more than 6,000 nature sites covering
over 320,000 hectares in Europe, Central Asia and Israel. The ECA division is
an international team of permanent staff who collectively provide a wide
range of experience and skills within the fields of ornithology,
conservation, management, fundraising, advocacy, communication,
administration.
BirdLife Europe and Central Asia is seeking a Fundraising
Intern. The position is based in Brussels.
The internship role will offer opportunities to those
seeking a career in the Third Sector with hands-on experience of private
foundations and corporate fundraising, database management and direct
response fundraising.
Tasks:
To update the newly created Fundraising page of the intranet
(daily contacts with BirdLife International staff based in all continents
foreseen)
To research on current and prospective donors (web based
research foreseen)
To set up and launch the new deadline reminder tool
To update BirdLife Europe Partners projects list
The internship role will be trained and supervised on a
daily basis by experienced fundraisers, but also be mentored by one of the
department's senior managers.
Qualifications and skills
At least a 3 year degree in Political Science, International
Relations and/or Communications.
Experience in handling lot of information and summarize
content for immediate use
Good command of English language (Spanish, French or German
is an asset).
Versatility with MS Excel spreadsheets. Excellent MS Word
and Outlook mail.
Highly organised with attention to detail, orderly work
style and strong task
Availability:
The Intern is expected to work full time, 5 days a week,
from 2nd November 2015 to 29th January 2016 (3 months)
