2014/15 Jean Monnet Postdoctoral Fellowships at European University Institute in Italy

Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS) is offering Jean Monnet Postdoctoral Fellowships at European University Institute in Italy. International Students can apply for this scholarship. Scholarship is offered for one or two years. The basic grant is € 2,000 per month. If the duration of the fellowship is less than 12 months, no grant will be paid for the month of August. 
About Scholarship: Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS) offers one or two year fellowships to post-docs in an early stage of their academic career. The main criteria of selection are the CV of the applicant, the overall scientific quality of the proposal, and the fit of the proposal with the Centre’s research programme.

Value: The basic grant is € 2,000 per month. If the duration of the fellowship is less than 12 months, no grant will be paid for the month of August. Successful applicants benefiting from other grants or salaries must disclose this to the EUI, as the amount of the fellowship will be fixed at a lower rate (minimum € 1,250 per month) depending on the additional income. 
Eligibility: -The fellowships are open to candidates who will have successfully defended their PhD by 31 July preceding the start of the fellowship on 1 September.
-Candidates are eligible during the 7-year period following the successful completion of their PhD (For example, to apply for 2013/14, the PhD should be completed between 31/7/2006 and 31/7/2013)
-Extensions to the 7-year rule are allowed in cases of applicants whose academic career has been interrupted due to maternity leave, illness or mandatory military service. In particular, for each maternity leave an additional year will be permitted, while in the case of a long or recurrent illness the total period of illness may be taken into account in calculating eligibility.
-Explanation of the circumstances should be included in the application in the field marked ‘Additional Notes’. Supporting documents will be requested from candidates proposed for selection.
-Candidates who have received their Ph.D. from the EUI can only apply for JMF after they have been away from the Institute in a full-time occupation or with another fellowship for at least one year after defending the Ph.D.
-Candidates of all nationalities are eligible for the Jean Monnet Fellowships.
