The Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) is seeking a highly
motivated intern for the Anti-Corruption Solutions and Knowledge
Programme within the Knowledge Services Department, starting in August
2013 for a period of 6 months.
The Knowledge Services Department provides a variety of demand-driven knowledge products and services to a wide range of anti-corruption stakeholders. The intern will support the production and dissemination of knowledge products, assist learning initiatives, and perform administrative duties.
Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 100 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
Main function: Assist the research, analysis, organisational and administrative work of the team on a variety of corruption related themes.
Starting date: 1 August 2013 (negotiable)
Duration: Six months, full time, Monday to Friday
Department: Knowledge Services
Remuneration: EUR 450 (according to the German labour and social security law)
Location: Berlin, Germany
Key tasks:
The intern will be asked to perform key tasks related to the research and knowledge exchange functions of the department, as well as a modest amount of administrative duties. He/she will actively assist the identification of thematic expertise, as well as the dissemination of research and other knowledge products across the Anti-Corruption Research Network (http://corruptionresearchnetwork.org) and ANTICORRP European research consortium dissemination platform (http://anticorrp.eu).
The intern will help build up an online knowledge repository of anti-corruption research, facilitate knowledge exchange between members of the network and assist with the facilitation of events such as webinars. The intern will be responsible for moderating forums, editing blog posts by network members and regularly updating the web site with new research.

- Supporting the management of TI’s academic outreach activities, namely the anti-corruption research network (http://corruptionresearchnetwork.org) and the student research projects.
- Sharing anti-corruption knowledge via webinars, social media and online platforms.
- Supporting the publication of occasional newsletters.
- Assisting the Anti-corruption Helpdesk with background research as needed.
- Supporting the dissemination of the Global Corruption Report.
- Supporting department’s administrative work on related knowledge activities, as well as the department’s Director.
- Advanced university degree in public policy, international law, international studies, development economics or a related social science field. Students currently enrolled in a graduate or post-graduate programme are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with online content management systems, blogging, forums and other social media tools required.
- Strong research and writing skills required; editing experience preferred.
- Some background in current anti-corruption discourse, policies and institutions preferred.
- Previous experience working in a think tank or non-governmental organization an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-pace office environment, multi-task projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent spoken and written English required.
- Arabic, French and/or Spanish language skills an advantage.
