2018 PhD Scholarship in Strategic Management at CBS, Denmark

The Copenhagen Business School is offering PhD Scholarship in Strategic Management. To be considered, the candidate should have a basic training at the Masters level (similar to the 3 + 2 Bologna process).

Copenhagen Business School often abbreviated and referred to as CBS, is a public university situated in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.

The candidate should have a very good command of English language. Therefore, the application should be written in English.

Scholarship Description:

Scholarship Award: A PhD scholarship runs for a period of 3 years. The scholarship includes a fully salaried position, according to the national Danish collective agreement. The scholarship includes the tuition fees, office space, travel grants plus a salary, currently starting with per month app. DKK 23,770 (approx. 3,160 euro) up to DKK 28,964 (approx. 3,860 euro) depending on seniority, plus a pension contribution totaling 17,1 % of 85 per cent of the base salary. Entrance Requirements: To be considered, the candidate should have a basic training at the Masters level (similar to the 3 + 2 Bologna process). This requirement includes the minimum grade of a weighted grade point average of at least 8.2 on the Danish 7-point grading scale or 9 on the 13-point scale for the entire program (i.e. for both the Bachelor’s and Master’s studies), and at least the grade of 10 for any final thesis or examination project. The applicants must be fluent in English.

English Language Requirements: The candidate should have a very good command of English language. Therefore, the application should be written in English.

Fully Funded SIWI Journalist Grant for Media Professionals in Sweden, 2018

The new SIWI Journalist Grant is currently accepting applications from five journalists from low or low-middle income nations to study in Sweden. This is the opportunity to visit World Water Week which takes place in Stockholm between 26 – 31 August 2018.

The SIWI Journalist Grant aims to build capacity in water and water-related issues among journalists active in developing countries, thereby creating the potential for raised awareness among large audiences of readers, listeners and viewers. In the long term, a raised level of water known in the journalist corps will contribute to influencing key decision- and policy makers in water and development issues.

SIWI is a water institute. We leverage knowledge and our convening power to strengthen water governance for a just, prosperous, and sustainable future. The idea that became SIWI stems from three linked events in Stockholm in 1991.

INTERNSHIPS IN THE GREENS/EFA GROUP

Description

The Greens/EFA Group in the European Parliament offers internships at its Secretariat in Brussels. These are established to award students or young graduates of universities the possibility to supplement the knowledge, which they acquired during their studies and to familiarise them with the activities of the Greens-EFA group in the EP.

The group offers full-time paid internships of minimum 3 to a maximum of 5 months. (In exceptional cases e.g. special national educational rules, university requirements, interns can be accepted for 2 to 6 weeks for an unpaid internship).

They employ a maximum of 5 interns at any given time and will nominate an experienced staff member as a supervisor for each intern, who will provide guidance for him or her throughout the internship. The objectives of the placement will be noted in an internship agreement, the tasks may include, support to advisors in committees, monitoring parliamentary work, supporting the organization of Group events or the press work etc.

Eligibility

student (proof of student status requested) or young graduate with an officially recognized higher degree);

age between 18 and 28 years;

national of a European Union member state;

share Green and democratic values;

have an excellent knowledge of at least two EU languages, including English or French;

covered by own medical insurance;

must not have any other internship or professional activity in parallel.

Internship

For paid internships (3 – 5 months) they grant an allowance of EUR 600 per month, plus an EUR 400 accommodation allowance per month for renting a room in Brussels if interns have not been living in Brussels for the last 6 months.

The European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN, is a European research organization that operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world.

The Administrative Student Programme is aimed at undergraduate students specializing in administration, to spend a training period of 2 to 12 months during the course of their studies (Bachelor or Master).

Eligibility

You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State and studying in a Member State or Associate Member State;

Students from Non-Member States are able to apply only if they have been residing in a Member State for the last 5 years and are enrolled in a Member State educational establishment;

You should have completed at least 18 months of your undergraduate studies (Bachelor or Master) at the time of the selection committee which is in June 2018. This means that you should have started your studies not later than December 2016;

The Tempus Public Foundation is calling applications for foreigners to apply for Hungarian State Scholarships to conduct research in the academic year 2018/2019.

The Tempus Public Foundation offers scholarships for foreign higher education graduates, lecturers and researchers who would like to gain further knowledge in Hungarian higher education institutions, research or art institute.

Tempus Public Foundation (TPF) is a non-profit organization established in 1996 by the Hungarian Government, with the task of managing international cooperation programmes and special projects in the field of education, training, and EU-related issues.

Eligibility

Scholarships are available to foreign students. Thus, applications may be submitted in the following two ways:

How to Apply?

Applicants should submit their applications in the online application system of Tempus Public Foundation. It can be reached and filled in Hungarian and in English. The language of the documents (e.g., highest degree, language exam, certificate of student status) to be uploaded in the online system can be Hungarian, English, French or German. If they are not written in either of these four languages, their official Hungarian or English translations must also be attached. Documents with the stamp and signature of the issuing institution on letterhead can be considered as official, there is no need to have it translated by a translator office.

No more than a 3-month-old medical certificate issued by a GP of satisfactory health condition for studies (no contagious disease) (original copy and its certified Hungarian or English translation). No template available;

Precise and detailed work plan – minimum 1- maximum 5-pages long (according to the work plan template);

Complete professional CV in Hungarian or English – attached as a file;

In case the working language is not Hungarian, the host institution should declare it in writing (in the Invitation Letter);

Publication list;

Letter of Invitation issued by the representative of a Hungarian higher education institution, research or art institute. The document must be with original signature, date, and stamp and/or on institutional letterhead;

Two Letters of Recommendation from two recognized experts in the relevant discipline with original signature, date, stamp and/or on institutional letterhead. The signers of the Letters of Recommendations cannot be the same as of the Letter of Invitation.

MASTER SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN FINLAND

Full tuition scholarships at the University of Jyvaskyla are now available to pursue master’s degree programmes in Finland. Scholarships are available to students of all nationalities.

Students must have Bachelor’s degree (academic first cycle degree), relevant to the field of education, and completed with good grades.

The University of Jyvaskyla is a University of Jyvaskyla, Finland. It has its origins in the first Finnish-speaking Teacher Training College, founded in 1863. Around 15,000 students are currently enrolled in the degree programs of the university. It is ranked as the fourth largest university in Finland when measured according to the number of master’s degrees conferred.

Scholarship

If you complete your degree in less than two years, the right to the scholarship expires upon the completion of your degree. Even if your studies are delayed, the scholarship is not granted for longer than two academic years;

Cost-of-living grants are available at the University of Jyväskylä only in the IMDP in Nuclear and Particle Physics.

Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for International Student 2018–2019

Each year the Swiss Confederation awards Government Excellence Scholarships to promote international exchange and research cooperation between Switzerland and over 180 other countries. Recipients are selected by the awarding body, the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS).

The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships are aimed at young researchers from abroad who have completed a master’s degree or PhD and at foreign artists holding a bachelor’s degree.

Types of scholarship
The research scholarship is available to post-graduate researchers in any discipline (who hold a master’s degree as a minimum) who are planning to come to Switzerland to pursue research or further studies at doctoral or post-doctoral level.

Research scholarships are awarded for research or study at all Swiss cantonal universities, universities of applied sciences and the two federal institutes of technology. Only candidates nominated by an academic mentor at one of these higher education institutions will be considered.

Art scholarships are open to art students wishing to pursue an initial master’s degree in Switzerland.
Art scholarships are awarded for study at any Swiss conservatory or university of the arts. Only those who have already been awarded a place to study may apply. This scholarship is available to students from a limited number of countries only.

Junior Fellows Internship at the United Nations University, Tokyo

The Netherlands organisation for international cooperation in higher education (NUFFIC) offers fellowships to participate in training courses in The Netherlands. NUFFIC offers StuNed, NFP and MSP (MENA) Fellowships. These fellowships seek to develop and strengthen the skills, instincts, and abilities of professionals to enable their organisations and communities to succeed in an ever-changing world. This is initiated and (almost) fully funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Eligibility

For NFP Scholarships there is no age limit. In order to qualify, you must meet the following selection criteria:

National of, and working and living in the listed NFP country;

Not employed by an organisation that has its own means of staff development, for example:

Multinational corporations (e.g. Shell, Unilever, Microsoft),

Large national and/or large commercial organisations,

Bilateral donor organisations (e.g. USAID, DFID, Danida, Sida,

Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FinAid, AusAid, ADC, SwissAid),

Multilateral donor organisations, (e.g. a UN organisation, the World Bank, the IMF, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, IADB),

International NGO’s (e.g. Oxfam, Plan, Care);

Have a passport that will still be valid for at least three months after completion of the training;

Not received more than one fellowship for courses that take place at the same time;

Proficient English language skills: The short courses are taught in English. Therefore, it is important that your English language skills (writing and speaking) are good.

Work experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required, working with or for local or regional authorities. It is to your advantage if the work/experience is related to the content of the training.

To be eligible for an MSP Scholarship you must meet the employer, language and work experience criteria mentioned above. Furthermore, you must:

Be a national of, and working and living in one of the countries on the following

MSP country list valid at the time of application;

Have an official passport that will still be valid at least three months after completion of the training;

Not be over 45 years of age at the time of the grant submission.

Goethe University Master Scholarships in Germany for 2017/18

Swedish Research Council International Postdoctoral Grant

Description

The Swedish Research Council is now accepting applications for International Postdoc Grant for January 2018 start. The purpose of the grant is to give recently qualified researchers with a doctoral degree from a Swedish university the opportunity to expand their networks and their competencies by working abroad under secure employment terms.

The Swedish Research Council priority target groups are researchers since financing research is one of the most important missions of the Swedish Research Council. Other target groups are decision-makers, journalists, and the public. Grant is awarded in the following fields:

Humanities and Social Sciences;

Medicine and Health;

Natural and Engineering Sciences;

Educational Sciences;

Artistic Research.

Eligibility

The following criteria must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible to apply for the grant:

The applicant for an international postdoc grant must be an individual researcher;

You must hold a doctoral degree from a Swedish university or the European University Institute (EUI), awarded no more than two years before the deadline for this call;

International students are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme;

Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Grants from the Swedish Research Council shall be administered by a Swedish university or HEI or another Swedish public organisation that fulfils our criteria for administrating organizations. To apply, your organisation must, therefore, be approved as an administrating organisation.

If you are awarded a grant, you must be employed by the administrating organisation when the grant period starts and throughout the grant period, unless the Swedish Research Council, the administrating organisation or any other employer agree otherwise. The administrating organisation will decide on the employment form, salary and employment terms and conditions. You are, however, expected to remain employed full-time throughout the grant period, which means that you are employed and pay tax in Sweden during your stay abroad. You do not have to be employed by the administrating organisation at the time of applying.

Benefits

The grant is awarded in a standard amount of 110114.83 EUR per year.

Out of which 94384.14 EUR is for your salary costs and 15730.69 EUR for research expenses relating to your stay and the research you will be carrying out (such as consumables, travel including stays at research sites and publication costs);

The grant amount includes the cover of indirect costs. The standard amount relating to salary costs also includes social security contributions. The grant may not be used for bursaries.

The Swedish Research Council assumes that the administrating organisation, as the employer responsible, will cover any costs in excess of the standard amount received.

The grant period is 18-36 months, starting from 1 January 2018. The first payment will be made during January 2018 at the earliest.

How to apply?

You apply electronically in Prisma, which is the application system used by the Swedish Research Council. You create your application in Prisma by filling in the text fields, uploading information from your personal account, and attaching the appendices requested.

To enable you to apply, your organisation must have been approved as an administrating organisation and have created an organisation account in Prisma.

You will need to attach an appendix to some fields as instructed. The appendix must consist of one file only, and you can only attach documents in PDF format. All appendices are limited as to file size and number of pages. You will not be able to attach an appendix that exceeds the stated maximum file size.

University of Cambridge Scholarships 2018/2019 for Foreign Students

The Cambridge Trust is offering Cambridge International Scholarships to pursue PhD studies for 2018-2019 academic year.

The aim of the Cambridge International Scholarships is to ensure that the 250 highest ranked students, irrespective of nationality, receive full financial support to undertake research leading to a PhD. International students are eligible for these scholarships.

Approximately 85% of the scholarships awarded each year are to students taking Masters or PhD degrees.

Eligibilities

These are guidelines on eligibility for scholarships that are available from the Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust:

Nationality: All students, irrespective of nationality, are eligible to be considered for funding by the Trust.

Status: The Trust does not accept applications from students who are part-way through a course at Cambridge, unless they are applying for funding towards a higher degree course following graduation.

Degree level: Applicants must be intending to start a course at the level of undergraduate (excluding UK/EU applicants), Masters (such as MPhil, MASt, LLM), or research postgraduate (such as PhD).

All scholarships require that you apply to the University of Cambridge via the normal online application form, and most scholarships require that you apply by the relevant deadline.

There are different procedures for applying for undergraduate study (BA and similar) and for postgraduate study (Masters, PhD and similar).

Undergraduate study:

The application deadline for the 2018 entry is 15 October 2017, 6.00 pm (UK time).

However, there are some exceptions. If you are applying for undergraduate study and wish to be interviewed in China, Malaysia or Singapore, the deadline is 20 September 2017.

Graduate study:

If you are applying for graduate study, please check and apply by the specific course deadline. Some deadlines are as early as mid-November (LLM Law) and there will be two general course deadlines of 6 December 2017 and 4 January 2018.

UNESCO/Czech Republic Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme, 2018-2019

UNESCO and Czech Republic are inviting applications for fellowships programme. There is no possibility to change neither the field of study nor the study programme once the fellowship is awarded.

In order to promote human resource capacities in the developing Member States and to enhance friendship among peoples of the world, the Government of the Czech Republic has placed at the disposal of UNESCO three long-term fellowships for undergraduate studies (which comprises the Bachelor’s and Master’s study programmes for the academic year 2017-2018) for the benefit of certain developing Member States.

The Ministry of Health provides medical care to fellows.

Facilities offered by UNESCO

UNESCO will cover international travel expenses within the framework of the Fellowships Programme under the Regular Programme.

Upon selection of the candidates, UNESCO will undertake the necessary action to authorize tickets to the beneficiaries before their departure for the Czech Republic. And,

A special one-time allowance of US$200 to cover transit and other miscellaneous expenses.

There is no possibility to change neither the field of study nor the study programme once the fellowship is awarded. The donor country highly recommends the following field of studies: Medicine, Natural Resources and Environment, Forestry Engineering, Tropical Agriculture, Water and Landscape Management, Environment, Ecology and Environmental Protection, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering. Preference will be given to students who will take these fields of study.
